Lucious

Lucious

Check out our new family photo! We actually have had a family for a while now, but we wanted to share our news Thanksgiving week because we are so thankful for them.
In the upper left is Finnegan, the cat, then our mom Mandi with Micka and our skin sister Grace with Lucious laying in her lap. Our dad Steve is holding Karen, another cat. Two more fur friends didn’t make the photo shoot because they were napping, but they are Bolt and Corki!
We are the most thankful for getting to stay together and for our new family adopting both of us. We know we would have just been lost without one another. Our new family is funny, happy and spends all day making sure we are happy, and we are loved. Our skin sister Grace has friends over all the time, and they chase us and play with us and bring us snacks. We love snacks.
We are getting ready for Christmas now and we are so excited to see what Santa brings us. It will be a lot because we have been really good. Love forever, Lucious and Micka
Today, we packed our backpacks and headed out the door, looking for a family that would adopt both of us. That’s right… two Bulldogs looking for a family who will allow them to stay together.
First, there is me, Micka. I am the mom and I am 5 years old. I am smaller, my fur is a little darker and I have a black dot on my head. I am obsessed with balls, so I need someone in my new family who will play ball with me. I love men and the couch is the place I love to be. I am a huge fan of going on car rides. I can sit, lay and stay, if you want me to do so. I need my teeth cleaned, but my skin is already soft, like silk. Everyone loves me!
Now, my 3-year-old son, Lucious, is a lot bigger than me. His face is white, tan and gray. His skin is a mess and he still needs to be neutered. He wants to be a lady’s man, but that’s not going to happen. This week, Dr. Larsen will help him lose that loving feeling. Lucious knows how to sit, stay and can give you a high 5. He is a chewer, so he needs to be crated when you leave the house. Lucious especially loves to chew on wood. He does not like other male dogs, but he loves me!
About eight months ago, Lucious went to live with another family. It was very hard on us both because we had always been together. Every day, I sat and looked out the window for him. And every day, Lucious wandered around the house looking for me. When I heard Lucious was coming home, I was so excited and when we saw each other, it was a hard-core fun wrestling match.
So, you may be wondering ~ how did we end up in rescue? Sometimes life throws curve balls, and things change. Our mom cried big tears today when we said goodbye, but she knew we needed more than she could give us. She wrote down all kinds of things about us so we could find the best family ever. The top of the list was “Please keep Micka and Lucious together” and to make sure they know how much they were loved. If our furever family has kids, they’ll need to be about 12 or older. Some kids make us nervous and small kids are going to get knocked down.
