What a great day for two special Bulldogs in rescue! Lucky and Marilyn Mini are headed to live with their new family in Colorado.
Foster Mom has never cried at an adoption before, but letting Marilyn Mini go, brought a few tears because she was such an amazing Bulldog!
The dogs’ new family has a big heart for rescue, as they have fostered and been involved in various rescues over the years. They also have Bulldog experience. When it came time to add to their family, they decided not just one, but two Bulldogs in need would join their home.
These two have four new fur siblings and a human big sister who volunteers at the local shelter back home. Their big sister is already in love with both of them!
Marilyn Mini will be known as Jersey Girl and Lucky is now Mad Max. These two will be living their best lives, wanting for nothing but more belly rubs! Everyone traveled well, and they made it to their new home safely.
I ended up in the shelter because my dad became homeless and the streets were no place for me. Walking around looking for shade would be near impossible ~ the heat definitely would have killed me, quickly.
I know my dad loved me. He told me so. We never thought our lives would come to this, yet here I am. I have no idea where he is, but I keep him in my heart. I know he’ll end up in a better place soon, just like I am now.
I am about 4 years old and I was one of the shelter’s favorites. I didn’t always have to stay in the back ~ sometimes, I got to come to the office and greet people. I got lots of pets and treats. I often heard, “My goodness you are sweet.”
After a few weeks of staying at the shelter, I was ready for a change and ready to join rescue. I will never have my dad back, but everything happens for a reason. I believe soon I will find a family who will love me just as much as he did. I know rescue will make it happen.
7/5/23 Update: After taking a break from fostering ~ due to the fact my husband wants to keep every dog who comes into our home and with our work schedules, we didn’t have the time we felt the foster Bulldogs deserved, we decided to jump back into the fold!
We welcomed Marilyn Mini into our home this week and her foster dad wants to keep her already!
I can’t blame him. She taught herself to use the doggy door the first time she saw it.
She walked in and made herself at home, as if she were meant to be sleeping on a couch always!
Our pack of rescue pups accepted her without issue. She is truly the sweetest, easiest girl we’ve ever fostered. She is easy to fall in love with!
Please, if you were ever on the fence about adopting, get in your application. We have a rescue full of amazing Bulldogs just needing your couch to sleep on.
7/12/23 Update: Sweet, sweet Marilyn Mini, although her foster family doesn’t call her Marilyn or Mini. She is called Jersey Girl, Sweet Thing, or Best Girl all the time! She truly is The Best Girl! She is just happy to follow the doggy pack to check things out when there may be something of interest in the backyard, she loves the couch for snoozing!
If foster mom is home MM needs her attention, and if foster mom sits down MM must be touching her. She loves to lay in the middle of the kitchen floor anytime foster mom is in there. She thinks belly rubs are the best.
She uses the doggy door for her business. MM is looking for a home where she can follow her person everywhere, and get lots of belly rubs between naps! She doesn’t mind having furry friends in her new home, but she doesn’t join in on the playing. There are toys and balls and bones for chewing in her foster home, but she hasn’t shown any interest in any of them. She prefers her time spent with her people snuggling, snoozing, and exploring!
MM will bring so much love to her forever home. Isn’t more love what every family needs in their home?
7/25/23 Update: Hey All! It’s me, Marilyn Mini! I want everyone to know I have acclimated to this living inside with A/C rather easily! I love the couch for naps, and the treats are plentiful!!! What I love more than anything – people!!! My foster family tell me that great things are happening, and that I will be having a meet-n-greet soon! I love everyone and all my foster fur family so I’m pretty positive I’ll be getting my furever family soon!
