Meatloaf

Meatloaf

Hey everyone I’m Meatloaf, Meaty for short!  My life has been a constant turmoil until now.  They say that I am between 4 and 5 years old but they have been really hard years because I look much older than that.  My spirit is still young but my legs just don’t go like they used to.  I have been shuffled around between 4 homes in my short life because no one knew how to take care of me or couldn’t afford to take care of me.  I have now landed at Lone Star Bulldog Rescue and I have high hopes that they will find me my final home.  These two ladies drove a long way to pick me up and I heard them saying that I smelled terrible.  That must be why the back glass was down in the that big car!  Anyways it was dark when we got to where ever we were going but no matter, they took me and gave me a bath immediately!  It felt so good I just stood there and never moved a paw.  They washed me up and dried me off and I felt so much better.  I saw the other 2 dogs that lived in that house and they were going crazy barking at me but I just turned the other cheek and moved on.  I guess they don’t know that I wouldn’t hurt a fly!  Then we passed the resident cat on the sidewalk, I think he wanted to be friends with me because he let me walk right up to him.  One of they ladies shooed him out of the way but I think I would have liked him.  Anyways now I have my own room with a nice soft bed under a cool fan and I love it!  One day soon I will be going to see the rescue vet and see what he can do to make me comfortable all the time.

I am currently taking Rimadyl and it seems to help, I will probably be on that for the rest of my life.  I am looking for a home with no stairs or steps that I have to climb and just somebody to love me.  I can get real excited and shake my nubby tail for you if you will just give me a pet.  After the vet looks at me I can probably tell you more about my current condition and what you could expect if I come live with you.  I just want a simple life – food, medicine and love!  I am neutered, up to date on all my shots and on a heartworm preventative.  My adoption fee is just $300.
