Miracle Grace

Miracle Grace

Miracle Grace has a spirit as gentle as her name. I took her in nearly ten months ago, giving her a safe place to heal and grow.

Every morning, Miracle Grace would trot around her foster home with a soft wag of her butt and a twinkle in her eye. She was quiet and a bit shy, but I always knew she had a loving heart just waiting to open up.

Then enter Jessica and Jen.

When Miracle Grace arrived at their home, she curled up on their couch, cozy as could be. She had a way of nestling in just right, leaning her head against Jessica’s shoulder or snuggling up next to Jen with a contented sigh.

Miracle Grace quickly captured their hearts. They loved her calm, snuggly nature and the way she settled into their home so effortlessly. They didn’t want to let her go.

With hopeful hearts, Jessica and Jen asked if they could adopt Miracle Grace. I had cherished every moment of our ten months together, so I felt a pang of sadness. But I knew that Miracle Grace had found her people, the ones who would give her all the warmth and love she so deeply deserves.

In her new home, Miracle Grace has her favorite corner of the couch, endless snuggles, and two humans who adore her beyond words. I’m at peace knowing Miracle Grace is exactly where she belongs. This quiet, gentle little dog finally found her forever—a place full of love, and two people who will cherish her always.

If Miracle Grace could talk, she would tell you the best day of her life was when she was picked up as a stray and ended up in a shelter.

Deathly sick with pyometra, a deep cut on her leg, skin infection, eye infections, covered in yeast and heartworm positive, Miracle Grace most likely figured, when she could no longer be someone’s cash cow, she would feel better if she just died.

But better days are ahead for this beautiful lady. Today, she joined rescue.

In the shelter, Miracle Grace became an internet sensation. Here picture was shared all over the country. People commented on her appearance and everyone wanted someone to step up to save her.

There was no way we could let this Bulldog die. It was obvious that she’s already led a miserable life. And we knew she deserves so much better.

Miracle Grace will have the best Christmas this year. She is now safe and loved.

1/30/24 Update:  Wow, has it been a great first few weeks in my foster home! My foster mom says thank you for all the warm welcomes to Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue.

I was thrilled that she was selected to be my foster mom because she sure gives out a lot of love. She also does a really good job of feeding me. She knows I like treats when I’m a good girl, and I am a really, really good girl. I think I even put on a pound.

My foster brother, Duke, has shown me all the ways to be super active… by laying around and sleeping all day. He moves from one side of the sofa to the other, while I get this super comfortable bed.

This week, I got those itchy stitches taken out. And today, the nice foster mom was working on a Valentine’s Day craft, so she made me this flashy tutu. I know I am super cute, but with this, I am even more adorable. I see lots of swipe rights in the future.

Bath time is not my favorite time of day, but let me tell you, I have noticed that the baths have really made my hair soft. And it’s growing back where it was missing!

I’m feeling better and can’t wait to find my forever human.

2/2/24 Update:  She has come a long way in just a few short weeks.  She had to stay home alone one day and I got stuck in traffic coming home, but she did really well that long day with no “oopsy.” She has had a whole week of no accidents in the house. I think she has mastered potty training.

She loves her treats and will do anything you ask her to get one.

She kills all her toy babies very quickly ~ taking out the squeaker and all the fluff.

She is not one to jump on the furniture, but if she sees you lying down, she will jump up and put her head by yours just to struggle faces.

She is a lover for sure and doesn’t like to go more than a few feet away from you at all times.

2/23/24 Update:  Last week, Miracle went to Debbie’s house while foster mom went on vacation.  She came back telling me lots of stories of all the fun she had playing with the other friends that looked like her.  This week, with it being so nice outside, she has found she wants to soak up as much vitamin D as she could with big boy Duke.

Miracle is such a card; she is like Velcro and wants to be stuck right next to you.  When she goes outside, she loves dragging her feet behind her so that the grass rubs her belly.  This little ball of energy is always looking to play.  She has mastered being house-trained.  If you are looking for a good snuggle buddy she is the perfect love bug.

3/19/24 Update:  Decked out for St. Patrick’s Day and ready to put our green thumbs to work! Miracle was an excellent assistant while planting flowers this weekend. She couldn’t resist smelling all the flowers, sampling a bit of dirt, and even attempted to fetch a basket. This little lucky charm enjoys sticking close by, always curious about what you’re up to.

This young pup knows the routine of being crated when her foster mom heads to work three times a week, but she absolutely adores it when her mom works from home. She’s become the highlight of every team video call, lounging on a sofa chair behind her mom. Everyone in the office always asks to see Miracle and hear about her latest adventures.

4/19/24 Update:  Miracle Grace had a fantastic time at the beach over the weekend, exploring every grain of sand with gusto.

Despite not being a huge fan of getting wet, she and her friend strolled along the shoreline, dipping their toes into the refreshing waves. Although it tired her out, she basked in the sun in the backyard afterward, thoroughly enjoying herself.

This spirited lady has a few quirks to note. She adores cuddling and is a social butterfly around people. While she can mingle with other dogs, she likes to assert her dominance. She’s particularly protective of her food and may show a bit of attitude if another dog encroaches on her mealtime. Treats, however, are always welcome in her book.

With the changing weather, Miracle’s left eye tends to collect some unsightly gunk, necessitating the use of eye drops. Additionally, she has a bit of excess undercoat, a remnant from her days of motherhood, which occasionally makes her itch.

This little love bug is waiting for the right person to share her love with.

5/22/24 Update:  Dear gentle readers,

This week, as I sipped my tea and indulged in my favored pastime of watching Bridgerton with my foster human, I found myself thoroughly enchanted by the tales of love and romance unfolding before me.

Indeed, I am a fervent admirer of a good love story. With each passing moment, I eagerly anticipate the day when I too shall find my own happily ever after and be adopted into a forever home.  Yours truly,  Miracle Grace

6/21/24 Update:  Are you looking for a loyal companion to join your family? Meet Miracle Grace, a delightful 4-year-old female Bulldog who’s ready to fill your home with love and joy!

About Miracle Grace….

*Behavior: sassy, funny and adorable

*Dance style: Happy dance moves (looks like the Road Runner standing in place)

*Personality: Miracle Grace is a curious little explorer who loves to investigate everything around her. Whether it’s a new toy, an interesting scent, or a mysterious sound, Miracle’s inquisitive nature will keep you entertained.

But don’t worry ~ she’s also a total couch potato at heart. Her favorite place to be is right by your side, snuggled up as you watch TV.

This little lady, at times, likes to do naughty girl things, like eating my tomatoes off the vines. That’s when I call her other names like Meme, Mija and Mamacita.

She does well jumping in my truck and traveling to the lake on the weekends. She is still a little spicy when she is around other dogs that are on leashes.

She’s not a big fan of the water, but loves running through the backyard water sprinklers.

She sleeps in her crate at night and will bark when she needs to go to the potty. If you don’t act, you will wake up to a surprise.

She is very active and thinks she is a young pup. At times, she overdoes it and then has to baby her back right foot for a day. Then she goes right back to running around.

Miracle loves:

*Exploring ~ she enjoys discovering new things and places, making every day an adventure.

*Cuddling: ~ she is a pro at snuggling and loves to be close to her humans.

*TV time: She’ll happily lounge with you during your favorite shows or movies.

Miracle Grace is looking for a loving home where she can be a central part of the family. She would do best in a home where she can get plenty of attention and affection.

7/5/24 Update:  Miracle Grace is ready for adoption and eager to celebrate the 4th of July! She loves going outside but with the heat she only gets to go out for a limited time.  As you see she is begging her foster mom to turn on the sprinklers so she can run through them.

This joyful little girl is also a cuddle bunny, always ready to share her love.  This week, she gets to celebrate at Lake Texoma. She has the best time because watermelon is served at every meal and the kids love to feed her.

7/25/24 Update:  She’s a playful soul who adores being by your side and exploring her surroundings. Although she’s not thrilled when her foster mom is busy working, she quickly turns on the charm to coax some playtime. If that doesn’t work, she’ll retreat to her chair for a bit of a sulk.

Unfortunately, my work travel will increase at the end of the month, making it challenging to provide Miracle Grace with the attention and care she thrives on. I’m hoping we can find her a family soon!

Last week, Miracle Grace had a thorough checkup with Dr. Larsen, and I’m pleased to report she’s in excellent health. She did require some medication for her ears, a result of her exuberant water play in the lake.

Miracle Grace remains a loyal companion, always eager to be close and curious about your activities. Could you be the loving home she’s been waiting for?

8/2/24 Update:  Each day, foster girl Miracle Grace watches patiently from her window, hoping to find a loving family to call her own.

Her soulful eyes and gentle nature reveal her deep desire for a place to belong.

Miracle Grace is ready to bring endless love, joy, and steadfast companionship into your life. She may get a bit jealous when you give attention to other dogs, as she believes her place is right by your side.

If you’re seeking a loyal friend who will always greet you with a wagging tail and a heart full of affection, Miracle Grace may be the perfect addition to your family.

8/14/24 Update:  Miracle Grace is all geared up for her first week of school with a backpack full of treats and a water bottle that’s ready for some serious hydration. Miracle Grace’s happiness is contagious—with her wagging bum and a “Best in Class” smile!

Adopting her would be like getting the class clown, valedictorian, and star athlete all in one! She’s ready to learn, love, and maybe even steal your heart (and your snacks).

So, who’s ready to make Miracle Grace’s school year the best one yet? Adopt her and let the adventures begin!

9/20/24 Update:  Miracle Grace is absolutely exhausted after her big weekend at the lake. She and Duke officially declared yesterday a “cuddle puddle” day—because, well, being adorable is hard work!

In the mornings, Miracle is all energy, doing her happy dance and bouncing around like she’s ready to conquer the world. With the cooler weather rolling in, she’s spending more time outside, soaking up the crisp air and running after her ball. Sharing the ball, though? Nope! That’s where she draws the line—her motto is, “What’s mine is mine, and what’s yours is mine too!”

9/27/24 Update:  Miracle Grace, my clever foster dog, has a new favorite game—hide and seek. It all started when Duke, my other dog, decided he was the master of hiding.

One afternoon, they were in the living room, and I said, “Let’s play hide and seek!” Miracle Grace’s ears perked up, and Duke immediately sprinted toward the curtains, his go-to hiding spot.

Now, to give Duke some credit, he thinks he’s invisible. He slipped behind the curtains, his entire back end and wagging butt sticking out like a sore thumb. Miracle Grace, not impressed or wanting to take part, pretending not to notice.

Miracle Grace is still patiently waiting for her forever family, and in the meantime, she’s filling every day with sweetness. Whether she’s curling up next to you with those big, soulful eyes, she never stops showing what a loving companion she can be.

She’s got so much love to give—always ready to greet you with a full-body wiggle. She’s just waiting for that special family who will see her for the treasure she is and make her feel truly at home.

10/18/24 Update:  I’m still on the lookout for my next home!

I had a blast at Bull-O-Ween, but I’ll admit: it got a bit overwhelming with so many friends all at once!

This week, I’ve been helping my foster mom with her winter project—painting her giant 75-inch nutcracker. I’ve been her trusty set of eyes, making sure she didn’t miss a single spot with paint.

Oh, but let me tell you the best part of my week! I got to stay at my foster mom’s friend Jenn’s house for two nights while she was out of town. I loved it there—snuggles, love and a beautiful home! I was so happy when Jenn came back and picked me up again for another stay until Saturday. It’s been such a fun week and she loves when I come and visit.
