Miss Opal

Miss Opal writes: What’s this I hear? I have a new family! I’m outta here and headed for my new home with my new friends.

Miss Opal is a vibrant 2-year-old Bulldog who joined us alongside her equally spirited stepsister, Miss Cleo. Their previous owner had to travel for work and realized that both girls deserved a life beyond being crated.

These adorable “snack-sized” Bulldogs are each just a bit larger than a French Bulldog, and they couldn’t be more different! Miss Opal is full of energy and love—she’s a lively spirit who’s learning that calmness can lead to treats and snuggles.

With a heart of gold, Miss Opal adores other dogs and even gets along with the “wretched” cats. While she might give chase in playful excitement, her intentions are always friendly.

Miss Opal is about 85% house trained and does well in her kennel, although she’s shown some signs of separation anxiety. After a brief incident of kennel destruction, she’s been doing great and hasn’t had any issues in the last few days.

This little sweetheart loves to be near you—if you move, she moves! She’s just starting to understand that it’s okay to relax and take a moment to chill.

Miss Opal is scheduled to be spayed on October 10 and will be ready for adoption shortly after.

10/11/24 Update: Yesterday was Oktoberfest in Granbury, so our foster mom and dad took us on a grand adventure. We had the time of our lives! There were so many pats and cuddles, and we even enjoyed a live concert—it was fantastic!

We met a young Bulldog named Ruby who was just as excited as we were. At Bob’s Off The Square, they treated us to plenty of ice water and set up misters to help us stay cool. Miss Cleo even met a boy and fell in love—she said she really wanted to go home with him and his Bulldog! So it’s safe to say she loves kids.

After Bob’s, we strolled around the square and, believe it or not, we met a monkey named Amelia! She was looking for a dog of her own and showered us with love. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience!

When we got home, we were so tired that we took a nice nap. Miss Cleo even decided to take a dip on the pool ledge afterward!
