11/2/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma Ashley: Mr. Toad is now name Ovie, after hockey player Alexander Ovechkin!
Tamara and Nolan made the five-hour trip from San Antonio to pick up this micro hunk of love! Upon seeing the pictures of him posted, Tamara knew there was just something about him and fell in love. It’s an impossible task not to, with that sweet face and eyes that magically match his fur.

10/24/25 INTRODUCTION: Please welcome Mr. Toad to our rescue family.
Mr. Toad came to us as part of a cruelty seizure… another heartbreaking case of neglect. Once again, a human failed an innocent soul.
When he was found, Mr. Toad was covered in mud and lying in his own filth. His skin told a story too painful to fully describe. And he’s just a baby.
He received immediate medical care. He’s been scraped, poked and prodded, but thankfully, tests show he doesn’t have mange, demodex or anything contagious. What he does have are the lasting effects of neglect: raw, red skin on the backs of his legs, the result of being left in filth and forgotten.
Now, with medication, soothing baths, and gentle care, Mr. Toad is healing, both body and soul. He’s learning what it means to be clean, safe and loved.
Despite everything he’s endured, Mr. Toad shines. His eyes are the color of sunset, his tiny teeth are razor-sharp, and he runs like the wind, stopping on a dime just to flash you a grin. He’ll steal your heart with his spirit and remind you why we fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.
Mr. Toad’s story is one of resilience and a reminder that we can’t do this alone. Every dog like Mr. Toad deserves a second chance, and your support makes that possible.
Please help us continue to rescue, heal and love dogs like Mr. Toad. You can donate through the Donate tab on our page or directly at dfwbulldogrescue.org/donate
Because no dog should ever have to survive what Mr. Toad has endured. And every one deserves to feel what he’s finally learning: love. ❤️
