It was love at first sight when Opi met his new family, and the feeling was mutual.
From the moment he walked in, it was as if he had lived there forever. Opi immediately settled in, and the rest, as they say, is history—Opi is home.
In his new family, Opi has a wonderful older fur brother and a bonus boy to play with. He will want for nothing in his new home, and it’s clear this is a match made in bulldog heaven. Opi has found his perfect place, surrounded by love, playtime, and everything he deserves.
After patiently waiting for my turn, I was finally able to join rescue yesterday!
I’m about 80 pounds of Bulldog “babe-ness,” and it only took me one year to get this fabulous.
It was a tough goodbye when I had to leave my home—my mom couldn’t stop crying because we shared a special bond. She loved me, and I loved her right back.
So, why did I have to leave? There’s a paralyzed dog in the home, and when he got hurt and couldn’t walk anymore, my mom dedicated herself to taking care of him. She’s doing everything to make his life as amazing as possible until the end. I want to be clear—I had nothing to do with his injury! I’m just a big, playful guy with a gentle heart.
Now, let me tell you a little about myself. If you’ve ever heard Miley Cyrus’ song “Wrecking Ball,” that’s basically my theme song! I have one speed—fast—and one goal—getting my feet up on the counter to see what’s for dinner! I can run through the house like a man on fire, and while manners aren’t my strong suit, I’m definitely willing to learn.
If you’ve dreamed of having a jumbo-sized Bulldog who’s active and loves to play, you may need to look no further. I love playing tug-of-war with other dogs, and I’m anything but a couch potato. I’m energetic, fun, and I’m ready to find the right family who’ll see me as the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Are you ready for a Bulldog adventure?
1/3/25 Update: Opi is adjusting well to his foster home. He visited the vet about two weeks ago and received a clean bill of health. After his neuter, he’s had plenty of quiet time to recover and is doing great.
Opi is very smart and picks up on things quickly. He’s finally discovered that dog food is indeed food and is eating well. He’s also learning to come when called, although he tends to get distracted along the way. He adores the resident Bulldogs and is always ready to play when invited.
He still occasionally engages in countertop surfing in search of snacks, but he’s learning to stop when asked. While he’s not a fan of face washes, he’ll tolerate them if there are cookies involved. Overall, Opi is just a big, sweet baby who loves affection.
