Five year old Otis was an owner surrender due to an undiagnosed illness. The former owners had done everything they knew to help him but felt Rescue might be able to find out what was wrong and help him. Otis was sent to a specialist who determined his skin issues were caused by a severe allergic reaction to cephalexin. In the beginning he was given a 50 percent chance of survival and now he has a 75 percent chance.
From his foster mom:
Otis is just amazing! Over the last 11 days I’ve seen quite a transformation! I’m in awe at the progress he’s made. We’re obviously not out of the woods yet but he’s wagging his tail and has a little more pep in his step. I’m starting to get a glimpse of his personality now that he’s feeling better and I’m enjoying his playful side. Last night he showed some interest in toys, got into the trash, and made himself at home in the cabinet while I was changing his bedding
When Otis is healthy enough to be adopted he will be current on vaccinations, neutered and on heartworm preventative. Otis’s adoption fee is $475.
