8/12/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! Ozzy Pawbones didn’t have to wait long to find his next home! The list of approved applicants waiting for young Bulldogs is always a little longer than the list for middle-aged pups.
A few weeks ago, Ozzy Pawbones met a wonderful family, and they quickly fell in love with this handsome boy. But there was one very important pup whose opinion mattered most… the family queen, Miss Emma! 👑
Emma can be a little timid and one of those pups who decides whether she likes you… or she doesn’t! From the moment she met Ozzy Pawbones, though, she thought he was pretty cool. She walked alongside him with a confidence that her parents didn’t always see from her, and it was clear these two were going to make a great team.
Sometimes, you just know when a match is meant to be… and Ozzy Pawbones and Emma were a perfect fit! ❤️
His journey may have started with a little uncertainty, but it ended exactly where every rescue story should: surrounded by love, comfort and a family who knew they had found their perfect match.
From rescue pup to cherished family member, this handsome boy is officially living the good life!
And just like that… Ozzy Pawbones’ happily ever after begins with a brand-new name: Carmello! ❤️
Congratulations, Carmello! We can’t wait to watch you live your very best life!
A special thanks to foster mom Renee and the family for helping get him ready for surgery and his new home!

7/8/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Ozzy Pawbones to our rescue family.
All I ever wanted was a little time, attention and someone to share life with. As I grew out of the puppy stage, life got busier for my family, and there just wasn’t as much time left for me. I spent more and more time feeling lonely, even when people were home.
Eventually, my family realized they could no longer give me the life I deserved and made the difficult decision to surrender me to a local shelter.
Thankfully, the shelter knew exactly who to call. Now I’m safe in rescue, where everyone is committed to helping me find the perfect forever family.
My name is Ozzy Pawbones, and I’m a healthy, handsome 3-year-old. I love kids, enjoy the company of other dogs and my favorite place is right by my people. Loud noises and thunderstorms can make me a little nervous, but with a little reassurance, I know everything will be okay.
I’m hoping for a family that enjoys daily walks, playtime and spending time together. I’d love someone who will teach me new tricks, include me in their adventures, and remind me every day that I’m part of the family.
I don’t think that’s too much to ask… do you?
P.S. I wouldn’t be here today without the help of volunteers. If you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and have ever thought about fostering, now is the perfect time. Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue provides the veterinary care and support—you provide a safe place for Bulldogs like me to decompress and prepare for our next homes. Every foster family means another Bulldog gets a second chance. If you’d like to learn more, please send the rescue a message. We’d love to have you on the team!
7/14/26 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: Ozzy Pawbones (AKA Dr. Oz) is an absolute sweetheart whose favorite prescription is unlimited pets! His wrinkles have wrinkles, so we’re giving his squish factor a perfect 10 out of 10.
He’s incredibly patient and actually seems to enjoy his spa treatments, especially having his adorable face and wrinkles cleaned. When he’s happy, he lets out the cutest little grumbles while wagging his tiny nub of a tail. And if you’re a fan of the Bulldog sploot, Ozzy Pawbones is a true master.
Ozzy’s energy level is on the lower side, making him an easy companion. Every now and then, though, he gets a burst of excitement and shows off a little extra pep in his step. He’s still settling into foster life and is figuring out that the couch is the perfect place for snuggles. His favorite spot? As close to his people as possible. If he can be touching you (or even better, sitting in your lap), that’s exactly where he wants to be.
He’s getting along well with his two foster sisters. Ozzy Pawbones is scheduled to lose his “lovin’ feelin'” in a couple of weeks, which should help curb his enthusiasm for the ladies.
He’s also working hard on his manners, including “sit” and “kennel up,” and he’s making great progress. Potty training is going well, and he’s sporting a fashionable belly band for the occasional marking accident.
For the family looking for a mellow, affectionate Bulldog with endless squish, a heart of gold and a talent for cuddling, Dr. Oz may be just what the doctor ordered.
7/22/26 UPDATE ~ Foster boy Ozzy Pawbones is getting more comfortable every day, and his sweet, loving personality is really starting to shine!
One of his favorite things to do is gently rest his big, squishy head on your shoulder for a hug. Of course, he fully expects plenty of pets and squishes in return for being such an excellent cuddle buddy. And if you massage his piggy ears? You’ll be rewarded with the cutest little grunts of approval.
He’s also an excellent work-from-home supervisor. Foster Mom made the rookie mistake of eating a snack at her desk, and let’s just say her computer narrowly escaped a very enthusiastic stream of Bulldog drool. 😂
Ozzy also has Foster Mom serenading him on a regular basis. Apparently, every time she looks at his adorable mug, she can’t help but sing Missy Elliott’s “Cute Face, Chubby Waist.” We think it’s a pretty fitting theme song for this handsome chunk!
He’s doing great learning his basic manners. If there’s a treat involved, he’ll sit like a perfect gentleman and is making great progress with “kennel up.” He’s also doing wonderfully with potty training and greets people politely, making him a great candidate for a family with kids.
Now, fair warning… Ozzy Pawbones is a certified chunky boy. If you’re sitting on the floor, he’ll happily plop himself in your lap and get as close as possible so he can shower you with slobbery Bulldog kisses.
And when the day is done, his sweet (and impressively loud) snores are the soundtrack to a happy, content Bulldog dreaming about his next home.
