Paisley Marie

Paisley Marie

Eric and Melinda fell in love with both Elvira and Paisley Marie when they saw them playing together.

The came out to meet the dogs and knew after a little play time that it would be a great fit.

Both dogs have trouble “posing” for selfies, so these are the best ones Eric could get of Melinda with Elvira and Paisley Marie.

Paisley Marie’s foster mom, Melissa, and I are so excited for both of them, although they will be missed. They are both truly sweet pups!

Thank you to Eric and Melinda for opening their hearts to both of them! They are matches made in heaven!

Bulldog friends today I joined rescue.  My name is Paisley Marie and Dr. Larsen says I am 10 months old.

A while back I was picked up by a local animal control while I was walking around town. As soon as I got to the shelter, I made myself right at home. My shelter friends told me not to get too comfortable because they knew someone would be looking for me. So, there I sat and waited. In fact, I stayed longer than most stay because they just knew any minute someone was going to come thru the doors looking for me. Finally, everyone decided that if no one came by Friday, I was free to leave and join rescue.

So here I am, joining rescue.  So, friends if you see me on any Lost posters please let my family know where I am. And if by some chance my family decided they really were not bulldog people after all and just let me go, please let them know I am safe, loved, will get all the medical treatment I need, and the next family will be my forever family.

My name is Paisley Marie and I really am as happy as I can be.

6/24/23 Update:  Paisley Marie (aka Petite Tete or Paisley Park) is all puppy. She wants to play, yet our resident dog and alumnus, Colt, wants to be left alone. For the most part, we keep a gate up so they have their own space.

Paisley is an adorable little ball of soft cuteness a little head on a potato body. She follows me around, trying to nibble on my footwear and wants to be near her people all the time. She can get mouthy with her play but does love her toys as a distraction (however long that lasts).

She is 50/50 with her potty training. She loves to go outside and will do business out there, but she has also gone in the house. Sometimes on the floor; sometimes on the pad. I am certain that, with a family who is home to train her, she would do great as she is a smart girl.

I’m thinking she might not be good for little kids with her mouthiness, but she would greatly benefit from a big yard and other dogs to play with and learn from.

She loves to “hide” in the grass and she just realized last night that, with a bit of a flying leap, she can get up on my bed uh oh!

I do not know how anyone could resist this face. Your home and family might be perfect for her, but you won’t know until you get in your application. Paisley may be waiting for YOU!

6/30/23 Update:  I’m a week into my stay with my new foster family. The resident Bulldog is alumnus Colt and he does NOT like me. I want to play all day and he wants me to not jump on him. Foster Mom keeps us separated, so he does not get hurt, which stinks for me as I have plenty of puppy energy to burn.

I like to play with toys, but would rather have someone throw them so I can keep playing.

Foster Mom gets mad when she sometimes becomes part of the “toy.” I guess chewing on her arm is not playing? She says we are working on that.

I am doing great with going potty outside or, if I cannot hold it, I am really good about going on the pads.

I love going outside where I like to play in the grass. As for leashed walks, I still just want to have the leash in my mouth to play tug of war.

Foster Mom took pix of my adorable puppy butt, as well as my excellent ability to “hide” in the grass. Foster Mom says I should be doing yoga because my downward dog is better than hers. For me, I just want love, play and get pets.

I would be the perfect addition to a house with no young kids (because I am still “mouthy”) and with people who will play with me.

I sure hope that is you please get working on that application so I can join your family!

7/5/23 Update:  Paisley  Marie seems to think that the leash is a toy.

Some days, she is fine on a walk and other days, we cannot get past the front lawn. She pretends the leash is a ferocious beast that she has to take down and wrestle to the ground. She is usually successful.

Sweet Paisley wonders if you have any beasts she needs to vanquish?

Please get in those applications, as she is eagerly awaiting her forever family and you may be her perfect match.

7/11/23 Update:  Paisley continues to surprise us as she is a smart girlknows when to cooperate but, when she does not want towatch your arms and toes. Yes, we continue to work on her mouthiness and my living room floor is covered in toys that we use to TRY to distract her.

She can be stubborn if she wants your attention but, as a “puppy” she still has lots of learning to do.

Surprising photo of her being calm on the couch (vs in my face for attention). Other photo is her taking an unusual break outside to close her eyes and relish the rays.

Little girls has energy to burn so your family will be able to keep her active and entertained (a young fur buddy who wants to play would be PERFECT)

She is adorabletoo cute for her own good

Is she too cute for you?

Nahsign up now for your opportunity to adopt sweet Paisley.

7/18/23 Update:  Poor Paisley Marie – in the kitchen with less than half of her toys, but she still prefers to play with my feet or my arms. When I try to get some work done, I get the adorable Paisley butt with a bit of side eye.

She is just pleading for someone to take her home, have a four-legged playmate for her, and help her grow in to the awesome adult dog she will be.

8/18/23 Update:  Paisley Marie  learned a special talent, but she’s not quite ready to share it with you YET. Foster Dad has been very busy working with her on her debut…… so get ready to be amazed!

She is crazy smart and it is so amazing to watch her learn and grow. Both she and Hogan Sheldon love to chase balls and share chew toys and get snacks!  Fruit is cool and yummy this time of year and they love it!

If you would like to meet one of these amazing babies, get your app in today because you may be a perfect match for one of them. I am continually surprised that I still have them! They are just awesome. Stay cool, everyone!

9/12/23 Update:  Foster kids Hogan Sheldon and Paisley Marie are the best of buds, but Hogan is a momma’s boy and Paisley is a daddy’s girl! They follow each other around and love to sunbathe, play and chew on things. This was just another typical hot summer week for them and both are looking forward to fall and getting to go for walks. Us too!

12/13/23 Update:  Miss Paisley Marie is just a barrel of fun!  She likes to sleep in two cat beds… or in the dirt.

She loves to play, chew bones and annoy the older dogs. She is also precious and sweet and just plain adorable. She would be the best playmate for anyone wanting to add to their pack. She is smart, funny and does the fastest zoomies I have ever seen! I know the perfect family is out there for her.

1/19/24 Update:  In a rare moment of stillness, I was able to get a couple of pics of Paisley warming herself by the fire in her sweater.  She is not a big fan of the cold, but doing zoomies makes it all better!

3/29/24 Update:  Unless it’s raining, Paisley Marie loves being outside. She will stay out as long as you will let her. She loves to wander and smell, pick flowers and nap. We often refer to her as “Pigpen,” as she loves to roll and nap in the dirt. LOL!

Paisley Marie has been working on her manners and is improving every week, with the exception of going potty outside. She can be out all day, then come in and pee and poop. Oops. I am open to all ideas on this!

We’re going to enlist our neighbors to help her with socializing properly with other dogs. She does great with our dogs! Paisley Marie is a work in progress, but aren’t we all! Even small changes will improve her adoptive chances. For now, she remains at needing to be an only dog with a very patient owner.

5/22/24 Update:  Sweet Paisley is taking time to rest and relax by the pool. She says that’s what summer is all about! Oh, and popsicles. Gotta have those!

Keep your fingers and toes and all your appendages crossed! Paisley has a meet and greet this weekend and needs all the help she can get!
