Petey (now Tank)

Petey (now Tank)

Happy day, happy day! I have not only found the perfect family, but I have a new lap all to myself. No more sharing!

It was the strangest thing. I left home for a stroll around town, and I must have gotten lost because nothing looked familiar.

I got tired of walking and I got hot. Then out of nowhere, a nice fella pulled up beside me and ask if I wanted a ride. Heck yeah, I did! These feet were not made for walking all over town, especially in this Texas heat.

Turns out my new friend was an animal control officer and I went to a great place. That’s where I sat, waiting for my family to find me.

Well, you’re not going to believe my luck. No one came looking for me even though I was lost.

Finally, after enough waiting, the shelter folks reached out to rescue to see if I could join them. And now, here I am!

3/3/23 Update:  Remember me? I came into rescue back in September, but then I got sick. I stayed at the vet clinic with something called kidney failure. Thank goodness Doc Larsen and her staff are amazing and they got me back on track.

I loved it at the vet clinic and now I have lots of friends there. Everyone loved me and gave me special treats and food to get my numbers back into control. I also got lots of special loves everyday because everyone knew me so well.

Now that I’m doing better, everyone thought it would be good idea for me to leave the vet clinic and go into a foster home. I’m ready to start getting ready for my forever family!

So far, I love my new foster home! I get to run around all the time and play with my foster sister, Shiloh Rose.

Foster Mom and I have special time together when she gives me my treatments three times a week. She also keeps me on my special food.

My favorite things to do are play, play, eat, and leap through the air like Superman!

Foster Mom says I am a really good boy, I haven’t had any accidents and am doing good on crate training.

3/9/23 Update:  “Pete Pete” is doing well at his foster home and learning the routine. He loves to  play with anyone who will oblige him and is loving the toy collection! Petey loves snuggling on the couch with his foster dad and has been trying to convince old Molly to play with him (she has yet to accept his invitations).

4/11/23 Update:  Doc has been treating me for something called “kidney failure,” but I graduated out of the veet clinic because my numbers have been so good!

Everyone says I am something called “special needs,” but I think they have me confused with some other dog because I feel great and am super active (I think I’m Superman!).

My foster mom gives me fluids twice a week and those are my favorite days because I get a special treat while they go in!

6/30/23 Update:  Petey is a sweet boy, loves to play with other dogs, potty trained, crate trained, etc.

He is a special needs boy with prescription food because of his kidneys and gets subcutaneous fluids twice a week. He’s a good boy during his fluids and enjoys eating a couple apples while he waits.

7-11-23 Update:  Petey continues to do great in his foster home. He loves his special time when he gets his apple bites and extra lovings during his fluids.

Petey is an overall easy boy and loves attention. He LOVES to play alone or with other dogs. He’s crate trained, potty trained and loves to go on adventures! He’d love to be someone’s main squeeze.
