7/18/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! Petra writes: I just wanted to stop by and give everyone a little update. It’s been a while and wow… I’ve had quite a few hurdles to conquer. Between my surgeries, healing and learning how to be the best puppy I can be, it’s been quite the journey.

But… I did it! ❤️ I officially found my home!

The King family has been so patient, waiting for me to finish healing before bringing me home. I think this is going to be the perfect place for me. I even have a brother named Griff, and from what I can tell, he’s a pretty chill guy. I think we’re going to be great friends.

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to finally have a family to call my own. It’s something I’ve been dreaming about, and now it’s really happening.

A very special thank you goes to my foster mom for taking such wonderful care of me. I know she is going to miss me! She made sure I always felt safe and loved and never gave up on me. Because of her, I learned that there are truly amazing people in this world who love dogs like me.

Thank you to everyone who cheered me on, shared my story and believed in me. Every kind word, every share, every prayer and every bit of support helped me get to this moment.

Now it’s time for my biggest adventure yet… life with my new family!

Thank you all for being part of my journey.

With lots of hugs, kisses, tail wags and love,
🐶 Queenie P

5/2/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Petra to our rescue family.

Found by local animal services in a construction area, she was surrounded by noise, chaos and uncertainty. But today she’s stepping into something completely different.

Her name comes from the ancient city of Petra… a place carved into stone, built slowly over time and revealed in breathtaking beauty.

She may be a little unsure today (even a bit petrified by all the change), but just like her namesake, there is something strong and beautiful already within her.
From construction dust to a foundation of love… Petra’s real build starts now.

Can you help us save more dogs like Petra? If you’re in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, we’re looking for compassionate foster families to step in and make a life-changing difference.

Fostering means opening your home to a dog in need (just for a little while) while they get ready to be adopted. You’ll give them safety, comfort and a fresh start.

Be the bridge between where they are and where they’re meant to be. Send us a message to learn how you can get started.

5/10/26 UPDATE ~ From foster girl Petra: Hi friends, Queen P here.

It’s only been a few days, but wow… my life has been BUSY in the best way! I got to go to school, meet lots of other dogs and play all day long (which, honestly, is exhausting, but so much fun).

I also had a visit with the vet. He gave me a full checkup, I had my surgery and now I’m taking a few meds to help me get all fixed up. The good news? He said once I finish my medicine, I should be good as new! I do have some allergies, but I started a new medication that should help me feel much better.

I’m adjusting really well to my new surroundings and learning that this world may not be so scary after all. In fact, it’s actually kind of amazing. So many smells, cozy spots, fun adventures and people to love.

The resident Bulldog, Bubba, has been showing me the ropes and teaching me all about the good life. I absolutely love having free run of the house and settling into this new routine.

Now all I need is my next family. I hear I’m not that far off from my happily ever after.💕

Love,
Petra

5/16/26 UDPATE ~ From foster girl Petra: I’ve been a busy girl fighting off a double ear infection, double eye infection, and a staph infection. Talk about trying to do the most all at once.

On top of that, I got all fixed up and am now getting ready for a future surgery to help correct my palate so I can breathe better. It’s definitely a long road, but I’m a tough girl and getting stronger every single day.

Now… let’s talk about my biggest struggle: potty training. 😅 For some reason, I still can’t quite figure out that potty is supposed to happen outside. My foster mom keeps telling me, “Queenie P, you are so smart, why is this so hard for you?”

Honestly? I just look at her with my big eyes and remind her that I simply want to be by her side at all times. Outside, inside… details, details.

I’m also learning what it means to trust people. That’s been a big journey for me, but my foster mom is helping me so much. I trust her completely now, and I’m slowly learning that maybe other humans can be pretty great too.

What I do know for sure is this: I would make the perfect little sidekick.

I know I’ll be matched to a family who needs a helper, shadow, best friend and loyal companion all wrapped into one adorable Bulldog package. I’m that girl! I’ll go anywhere and do anything, as long as I can be right next to you. ❤️

Love,
Petra AKA Queenie P

6/15/26 UPDATE ~ From foster girl Petra: Life is still pretty great in foster care. I’m doing well with my potty training, but I’m still a puppy and make an occasional mistake here and there. Foster Mom says I’m learning more every day!

I’ve also discovered that I absolutely LOVE car rides. If there’s an adventure involved, count me in! When I’m not riding around town, you can usually find me lounging on my back with my paws in the air, living my best spoiled-girl life.

I can’t wait to be adopted and riding shotgun on all of life’s adventures with my next family!

7/8/26 UPDATE ~ From foster girl Petra: I’m BACK and better than ever.

I have some exciting news to share! I recently had my palate surgery and even got my little nose fixed so I can breathe better and enjoy the happy, healthy puppy life I’ve always deserved. My doctors said I was the very best patient, and I’m all healed up and feeling fantastic!

I’m a 100% Velcro puppy. Wherever my people go, I want to go too. Kitchen? I’m there. Living room? Right behind you. Bathroom? I’ll patiently wait outside the door! I just love being part of whatever is happening.

One of my favorite things in the whole world is going for car rides. Windows down, ears flapping, adventure ahead… count me in! I’m also a wonderful walking buddy and enjoy exploring right alongside my people.

I’m doing great with my potty training because I know exactly what I’m supposed to do. My only challenge is that I love my people so much that I don’t want to be outside by myself for very long. If everyone heads back inside before I’m finished, I start thinking, “Wait! Don’t leave me out here!” My foster mom says I’m just a little too devoted to my humans.

Despite everything I’ve been through, I haven’t let it dull my spirit one bit. I adore people and soak up every bit of affection I can get. Belly rubs, ear scratches, cuddles… you name it, I’m all in. At the end of the day, my favorite place is curled up beside the people I love.

Kennels really aren’t my favorite, but the good news is I don’t need one. I’m trustworthy when left home alone and am perfectly content relaxing around the house until my people come back.

And let’s not forget the treats! I’m very food-motivated, which makes training lots of fun. I’m a smart little girl who’s eager to learn, and my foster mom says I’m making progress every single day.

Life is pretty wonderful these days, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
