The best thing happened to me and I just have to share it.
After having some serious breast cancer removed and being spayed at the vet clinic, I was ready to move into a foster home.
They told me I was going to stay with Pebbles and Haley, and that I just needed to rest.
Once I got there, I thought, “Wow, this would be a sweet place for me!”
Haley and Pebbles were so kind. Pebbles kept bringing me her toys and Haley kept trying to comfort me because she knew I was feeling bad.
I found my spot and then I started staring at the mom and dad, Paul and Beata. You know that look…. like “I love it here. This house is really big. I promise I will always be good. Please keep me forever!” I didn’t know if it would work, but I was hoping so.
Yesterday, when the rescue wagon showed up, I was so afraid I was leaving again. And then I heard those magic words: “Pickles, do you want to live with us forever?” I saw the adoption papers and I knew this would be one of the best days of my life: my adoption day!
So, be sure to check out my new family pics. My new dad is Paul and my new mom is Beata. My sister Pebbles (who also was recently adopted ) always carries a toy and my big sister is Haley.
This is a dream come true for me. Paul and Beata went from having one Bulldog, Haley, to another Bulldog, Pebbles, and then another Bulldog: ME! We are three sisters and now make a perfect Bulldog family.
Bulldog people, the strangest thing happened to me. A few days ago, my sister Bacardi left home and joined rescue. I woke up and she was gone. Gone like the wind. We had made a pack that when one left home we would both go.
Seems like someone forgot that. So when I looked at my Mom with these big brown eyes and told her I was retiring and I wanted to go too, what was she supposed to do?
I know the reason she kept me behind was because I was her favorite. She would say my name really fast, and I would dance like a dancing fool. My Mom told me every day that I was beautiful, and I was loved.
I know how to walk on a leash and sit for a treat. I sat with Dr. Larsen today, and tomorrow I am going to have a surgery and there will be no more babies for me. But I do love babies, and other dogs, and cats. I love cats, but they don’t always love me!
My name is Pickles Peyton, and I am 3.
