Pippin Took

Pippin Took

Well, everyone, it’s my turn now! Foster Mom always told me, “Don’t worry, you’ll find your family; just be patient.”

Then one day, we took a ride in the car and headed to the park. I met some new people, and I was so excited. I was so thrilled that when it was time to leave, I had to go back to the truck to say goodbye again. But something inside me told me that this was different. And then I heard the best news of all—it finally happened! I have my very own family now!

The best part? I’m going to be the center of attention! All the kids are away at college, so it’s just going to be me and my new mom and dad. Foster Mom tells me she’ll miss me, but she’s so happy that I now have a family to call my own.

Thank you all for everything, and, most importantly, for reminding me that patience pays off. In time, we all find our perfect family.

Pippin Took was recently found at a local shelter, though it’s unclear whether he was dropped off by his previous owner or found wandering the streets. Regardless of his past, Pippin Took is now safe in rescue and on his way to finding his next home!

This sweet, handsome boy had a much-needed bath and absolutely loved being towel-dried. At around 2 years old and weighing about 55 pounds, Pippin Took is both young and full of charm. He will soon visit Dr. Larsen to address some eye issues, but he should be ready for his new family in no time.

Pippin Took is eagerly waiting for his new home where he can share his love and joy. Could you be the one to give him the forever home he deserves?

11/8/24 Update:  Pippin Took is gradually settling into his foster home, although he remains a bit unsure and tends to follow his foster mom around. Overall, he is adjusting well and enjoying his new environment.

Pippin Took loves going on walks and is making progress with potty training, though he still has some consistency to achieve. He gets along wonderfully with kids, but being a puppy, he can become overly excited, which might be a bit much for little ones. Pippin Took also thrives around other dogs, eager to run and play with them.

While he is crate trained, Pippin Took usually needs a little encouragement to go in willingly, often requiring a treat to help ease the process. With some patience and positive reinforcement, we are confident he will become more comfortable with his crate time over time.

11/27/24 Update:   Pippentook is adjusting very well in the foster home.  We are almost there on potty training only accidents every now and it helps that there are a couple resident bulldogs to show him the way.  We are working on how to sit, and he is getting better going into his crate at night without a treat.  He does not jump on the sofa, he loves just laying by your feet.  He loves kids and we are working on not getting too excited to overwhelm them.  Pippentook also gets along with other dogs, he loves to run around and play.  It would be great if his forever family had a friend for him to play with.  Will it be yours?

1/10/25 Update:  Have you ever heard of a pillow fort? Well, I hadn’t, but when I tried one, it was so much fun! I even took a little nap in it. I just know my perfect family is out there. And even if there are no pillow forts, I’d be thrilled with just a cozy pillow to snuggle by your feet.

1/30/25 Update:  Yesterday was just a lazy rainy day. I must admit though I did get a little scared when I heard a loud noise. Foster Mom told me not to worry it’s this thing called “thunder!” Well, I didn’t like it very much, but what I do like is this comfy spot I found to continue my lazy day!

2/20/25 Update:   I’m still looking for a family to call my very own! I just love being around people and follow my foster mom everywhere she goes. There are resident Bulldogs here, and I get along with them just fine. I’m also a big fan of little kids and have been working hard on controlling my excitement around them.

Being a puppy, there are a couple of things that get me really excited—like chasing my ball and going on walks. I’m still learning to enjoy car rides, but my foster mom has been taking me on little trips to help me get more comfortable with them.

I know my perfect family is out there somewhere and I know rescue will find them.
