7/19/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: PJ and Gus Gus are officially Georgia Bulldogs! 🍑🐶
It took nearly four months, but these two lovable boys finally found their perfect match—a wonderful couple who fell head over heels and drove all the way from Georgia to Texas just to bring home this handsome sack of sweet potatoes!
The Peters, now proud empty nesters, are no strangers to Bulldogs or fostering. And after spending just an hour with them in our home, we knew PJ and Gus Gus were headed for a beautiful life.
They’ll be sharing that life with two amazing human sisters who attend UGA—so it’s only fitting to say: GO DAWGS! 🐾📣
As their foster family, these 80-pound bundles of love helped heal a part of our hearts after the loss of our 13-year-old soul dog. They brought joy, laughter, chaos, slobber and snoring back into our home—and we’re so grateful to them for being our very first foster dogs. ❤️

INTRODUCTION: Welcome Gus Gus and PJ to our rescue family! Double the fun, double the love. These two are not littermates, but absolutely best friends for life. The dynamic duo travels everywhere together. See one, and you’re guaranteed to see the other.
And guess what? There’s no way they’re being separated! They’ve been inseparable from day one and love each other like family.
Gus Gus has a little white on his face, and PJ’s full name is actually Peanut Butter—and just like the creamy treat, he’s sweet through and through.
These two came to us after a tough turn of events. When their mom passed away in California 18 months ago, a family member made the long drive to bring them to her home. She said the road trip was a challenge, but they were perfect little passengers in the SUV. However, between caring for a toddler and managing the needs of two lovable pups, it became clear they needed more than she could provide.
So Gus Gus and PJ were surrendered to rescue with their bed, round ring, and all the comforts of home. They went for a full vet check and the vet treated their ears for infection and gave them some medicated shampoo for their skin.
They were surrendered out of love. The family knew these two deserve the best, and they knew our rescue group could offer them that.
Welcome to rescue, Gus Gus and PJ! You two are going to be so loved here, and we can’t wait to see your journey unfold!
4/4/25 UPDATE: Hi Y’all! Gus Gus and PJ just wanted everyone to know they are the goodest boys! They’ve been with us for almost 48 hours and they are so grateful for every walk, treat, toy and snuggle! They light up with so much joy and excitement when Beckham gets home from school, they would thrive in a home with older kiddos!
4/14/25 UPDATE: One week ago today, we picked up these handsome potatoes, PJ and Gus Gus, for fostering! They pretty much let us know right away that it’s their house and we’re just living in it.
Their favorite way to start the day is when I have coffee outside and they get patio and sunbathing time. They have loved the cooler weather and going for lots of short walks. They both do great on a leash, even our 10-year-old can walk them and they have good manners when others pass by on the sidewalk.
They have had total freedom in the house. Even when we leave, we don’t crate them.
They know how to sit, shake, lie down and they even learned to how to wait for their treat until they’re told to go get it. They were so proud of themselves!
Although they are 5 and 6 years old, it actually takes a lot to wear them out. They can be party animals, especially Gus Gus!
They also are very much Velcro dogs. They’re always following us around and curious about what we’re doing. So if you’d like to take a shower or use the bathroom in privacy, too bad!
4/18/25 UPDATE: Gus Gus and PJ absolutely love being outside, lounging by the pool and going for walks. These potatoes definitely walk to the beat of their our own drum with the cutest bulldog butt wiggles. They’ve become neighborhood celebrities, everybody gets so excited when they see these handsome fellas out walking.
The ice cream truck comes on Wednesdays and they wait in line calmly with good manners, however there ain’t nothing graceful about how they eat their ice cream.
It’s crazy that no one has scooped these boys up, yet!!
5/1/25 UPDATE: Gus Gus and PJ need a family! From the foster momma: They are both potty trained and great with kids! Not sure about cats, but they are pretty easy and chill overall.
6/25/25 UPDATE: Gus Gus and PJ need a family! From the foster momma: PJ and Gus Gus were on their BEST Bulldog behavior at the vet today. They even spotted a kitty cat and didn’t move a muscle—total gentlemen! People often ask how I manage 160 pounds of Bulldog solo, and the answer is simple: these boys are smart, sweet, and incredibly well-mannered. ![]()
