9/13/25 INTRODUCTION: Please join us in welcoming 10-year-old Ramrod to our rescue family!
Like so many senior dogs, Ramrod found himself in a situation no pup deserves. For most of his life, he was deeply loved. But as his dad aged, that love, while still present, began to change. Ramrod started spending more and more time outside, until eventually, he became an outdoor dog.
His dad didn’t realize the risks of leaving a Bulldog in the harsh Texas heat. Ramrod is lucky to be alive. Thankfully, his story took a turn thanks to the persistent efforts of the dad’s daughter. She had been trying to get Ramrod into rescue for some time, and after many heartfelt conversations, she finally convinced her father that Bulldogs belong inside with their families.
Today, Ramrod is safe and officially part of our rescue family.
At 10 years old, finding a forever home won’t be easy. Senior dogs often get overlooked by applicants. But maybe, just maybe, someone out there has the heart and the home to give this sweet boy the love and comfort he deserves for his golden years.

10/1/25 UPDATE: HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY, RAMROD! 🎉
That’s right~ today is a huge milestone for this sweet Bulldog foster boy, and what better gift could he receive than the promise of a family?
We truly believed Ramrod had found his home, but sometimes, life has other plans. It just means that his perfect match is still out there, and we know they’re worth the wait. 💛
Despite turning the big 1-0, Ramrod is full of life and love. He’s playful, affectionate and always ready to bring a little Bulldog charm to your day. He may be a senior, but no one’s told him that, and we’re not going to either!
He’s still figuring out the comforts of indoor life. Sometimes we find him snoozing on the floor instead of the soft bed nearby, but he’s starting to learn just how good cozy can be. 💤
💡 Like many boys adjusting to a new routine, he’s marked a few times indoors, but with his stitches coming out this week and belly band training starting, we’re confident he’ll catch on quickly with a little guidance and patience.
Ramrod is a big-hearted boy who simply wants to be seen… to be loved for exactly who he is: goofy, sweet, resilient and loyal to the core.
So today, as we celebrate his 10th birthday, we’re holding onto hope that his forever family is just around the corner. If you’ve been looking for a senior companion to make your days brighter, Ramrod might just be your guy.
