In what felt like a whirlwind weekend, I’m excited to bring you the best news—and possibly one of the fastest adoptions rescue has ever seen.
After being in our foster home for just ONE DAY, the perfect family reached out and asked to adopt Rocky Bullwrinkle.
Matthew and Katie are no strangers to Bulldogs, dogs, or rescue. They’ve been incredible foster parents for over NINE years, and the moment they saw pictures of Rocky Bullwrinkle, they were smitten.
When their dogs met Rocky Bullwrinkle, everyone was in agreement—this sweet boy had found his forever home.

Rocky is a 7-year-old Bulldog who is a rare find in rescue—he comes to us fully vaccinated and neutered! This handsome guy’s family made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him due to serious health and financial struggles, knowing it was the best choice for Rocky’s future.
While making arrangements, Rocky’s family provided us with great insight into his personality:
He lives with two cats and does well with them.
He seems to prefer men (but he’ll take love from anyone!).
He’s a super fan of peanut butter, cheese, and a little beef or chicken in his meals.
He has lived a wonderful, spoiled life, sharing snacks and love with a special family member.
That said… Rocky and our volunteer had a long chat about the importance of a proper diet as we age. So, while he’ll get all the love at LSBR, we’ll also be helping him shed a few pounds!
His family sent him with everything he loves—his bed, blankets, bowls, food, toys, harness, and leash—they even gave him a bath before he came to us. Their love for him was clear, and now it’s our job to find him a home where he can be cherished once again.

2/20/25 Update: Rocky Bullwrinkle has been an absolute joy to have as a house guest! He adores getting attention from our girls and gets along wonderfully with the resident dogs, even the crazy one.
While Rocky Bullwrinkle may have some eyesight issues (he moves around cautiously to avoid bumping into walls or furniture), he doesn’t let that slow him down. He’s also not a fan of the crate, but he’s been so well-behaved that he’s earned the freedom to stay out on his own.
Rocky Bullwrinkle loves the couch and can hop up all by himself—whether with or without the stairs. He enjoys peanut butter with his dinner and is absolutely wild about beef sticks as a treat. Rocky Bullwrinkle may have a little weight to lose, but we’re letting him get settled before we break the news to him!
We’re excited to see what the future holds for this sweet boy. We’re confident the perfect family is out there waiting for him!
