Rubble

Rubble

In the heart of a bustling town, amidst the flurry of everyday life, a tiny soul named Rubble found himself alone and abandoned, a mere speck on the vast canvas of the world.

With wide, soulful eyes and a spirit yearning for affection, he was discovered on the roadside, adrift in a sea of uncertainty.

News of his plight reached the compassionate hearts of a local Bulldog rescue group, who swiftly extended a lifeline to this forlorn creature. Rubble’s journey took a turn toward hope as he was welcomed into a warm and loving foster home.

Upon his arrival, Rubble’s once vibrant spirit was dimmed by the discomfort of fleas and worms, a testament to his neglected past. But the family’s unwavering care and dedication soon transformed his life. With gentle hands and tender hearts, they nursed him back to health, eradicating the parasites that plagued his tiny body.

As the days unfolded, Rubble’s true essence began to shine through. His playful antics and infectious enthusiasm brought an air of exuberance to the household, filling every corner with boundless joy.

His endearing wrinkles and mischievous grin became a constant source of delight, a reminder of the profound impact a rescued soul could have on a family’s life.

The decision to adopt Rubble was a natural progression of the unbreakable bond that had formed. He was no longer a foster dog; he was an integral part of the family tapestry, a cherished companion whose presence brought warmth and laughter to their everyday lives.

Rubble’s story is a testament to the transformative power of love and compassion. From a discarded pup to a cherished family member, his journey embodies the resilience of the canine spirit and the profound impact of second chances. His presence serves as a daily reminder that even in the face of adversity, love has the power to heal, to nurture, and to create a symphony of joy that resonates within the walls of a loving home.

When the local shelter contacted rescue, we all agreed that the shelter is no place for a pup like me.

I’m 8 months old, underweight and have some skin issues. My foster mom has already given me a bath and medicine to take care of the nasty fleas. Boy, do I feel so much better already!

Foster Mom says I will need to visit the vet clinic and get a checkup from Dr. Larsen. I’ll also have to lose that “loving feeling.”

Until then, Foster Mom promises to dish up some tasty treats and meals so I can put on some weight.

I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

7/18/23 Update:  Rubble has been in his foster home for a little over a week now. He loves being around people and will follow you wherever you go.

At first, we had to bribe him to get him to go outside, but this weekend, he has started to venture outside on his own. He’s not fully potty trained, but the longer he’s been here and the more he understands where to go, the better he’s been about doing his business outside.

Rubble likes to chew on bones and his stuffed duck. For the most part, he leaves all the kids’ toys and our shoes alone, although he has gotten curious a time or two. He has learned to enjoy snuggling on the couch.

We are working on fattening him up, and he doesn’t hate it. Rubble likes all kinds of treats and will gladly help pick up anything that’s accidentally dropped at the dinner table.

Rubble isn’t a big fan of the crate. He will break out of it when we aren’t home, but he does just fine overnight. He’s also the slowest dog I’ve ever tried to walk on a leash.

Rubble is waiting on a vet visit for a checkup and little snip.

8/11/23 Update:   Rubble is doing so well in his foster home. He loves trying new snacks—his newest favorite is carrots.

Rubble doesn’t particularly like going into the crate at night, but that’s where he sleeps because otherwise he gets the late night zoomies and I think someone is breaking into the house.

He loves playing with toys and hasn’t had an accident in at least a week. He thinks running around the backyard and bolting inside through the dog door is the best. He always runs up as if to say, “See what I just did?” Rubble also barks when he hears a dog bark on TV, every time, without fail.

It’s so fun to see Rubble learn how to be a puppy!
