Ruby Rene

Ruby Rene

When Ruby Rene saw her new mom, Jen, and big brother come in the door on her adoption day, she couldn’t stop wiggling in excitement!  They put a beautiful pink collar and matching lead on her and she never looked back. She jumped up into the car to start her forever life! Updates so far are that she is doing great and they are loving how sweet and silly she is!

Ruby’s mother carried her in like she was a pot of gold. Wrapped her up like a baby. And at 1 year and 5 months she is perfection.  She is 40l bs of fabulous.  She loves dogs, cats, kids and people.  And she has always been loved and had a great Mom.

I was puzzled why Ruby needed a new home because clearly, she was loved.  She had been bought at 8 weeks, along with 2 bulldog brothers. 3 perfect bulldogs all the same age. Ruby joined rescue today, and in the following 2 weeks each of her brothers will join. All are just as cute as Ruby. Ruby was bought in Dallas, one brother in another state and the other brother came from way up North.

When I started talking to Ruby’s mother, she said I bought each bulldog puppy “the year I lost my mind!”  I had to laugh out loud. Wanted to say, “Been there and done that!” Then she went on to explain she was going to be a bulldog breeder. She knew how much she had always wanted and loved bulldogs and her dream was to create more so more people could have one and feel the love.

But then it happened, these 3 bulldogs became family members. Ruby is small, she didn’t need to have babies. Her 2 brothers didn’t seem like they wanted to be stud dogs. They just wanted to follow everyone around and be part of the family.  Ruby’s mom made me laugh out loud. She understood that dogs are dying daily in shelters and why would she want to add to the overpopulation?

So, Ruby joined rescue and in 2 weeks her brothers will be here. And Ruby’s Mom will always remember the year “she lost her mind ” and wanted to breed bulldogs! Now she just cares about these 3 gems finding a perfect family, getting to lay on the couch and making someone’s dream come true of having a beautiful bulldog.

11/21/22 Update:   I made it to my foster home his week! Foster Mom has to keep interrupting my beauty sleep and bone chewing to wipe my face and give me yucky medicine and nasty drops in my eyes. She tells me that Dr. Larsen picked those medicines out just for me to help me feel better, so I’ll be good as new for my new forever family!

This week, I have made it quite clear that I do not like to go outside when it is cold (or wet). Is it too much to ask to stay snuggled up close to Foster Mom or the warm fireplace?

11/30/22 Update:   Ruby got her eye and spay surgery sutures out and is a playing machine! She loves to play with her foster brother Diesel William and makes sure to tell her foster mom know when it’s dinner time!

12/5/22 Update: Ruby Rene had an exciting weekend! Jen and Kevin came to visit with her and, of course, fell in love with her beauty and charm! They already let know they’re excited to add her to their family tomorrow.

This week, Ruby practiced being a reindeer and enjoyed playing with her foster brother, George Tucker. He loves playing with Ruby because she is gentle and silly just like him!
