Sandy Beach

Sandy Beach

Sandy Beach is truly thriving in her new home! Her adoptive parents are dedicated to giving her the best life, and she’s already flourishing with their love and care. They take two walks a day, and Sandy is beginning to shed some weight, which is a great sign of her improved health.

Just a couple of days ago, her adoptive mom, Maribeth, shared the sweetest update: Sandy Beach has started rolling onto her back for tummy rubs—something that shows just how comfortable and happy she’s feeling. At night, Sandy Beach has made herself right at home, snuggling up in bed with her parents and even claiming Maribeth’s pillow for herself!

I couldn’t be more thrilled for Miss Sandy Beach and I’m overjoyed to see her in such a loving, happy home.

Bulldog family, the lady that came to the shelter and picked me up named me Sandy!  She said I had beautiful fur and it reminded her of a sandy seashore.

All I remember is that it was one of the hottest days of the year and I was out walking around. My feet had blisters from the heat and my stomach has staples from having another litter of babies. I seriously thought I was going to die. I was so thankful when animal control drove up and put me in the air-conditioning. I was over-heated, lost and thirsty. I rode in the front seat back to the shelter and soaked up all the air I could get.

My new shelter friends told me that they did not think anyone was going to come looking for me because if they wanted me that would not have let me get away.  My underneath shows some signs of having lots of babies, but next week Dr. Larsen is going to make sure that never happens again.  Dr. Larsen also made me get on the scales, and it said I weighted 66lbs. Seems like a proper weight for me.

I know I am going to LOVE my new life with a new family what will always want me. So send in a application, you are just going to love me!

9/6/23 Update:  Look how great I look! Today I left the vet clinic, and everyone was so sad to see me go. They all loved me!

I might have fluffed up while I was there because people shared their lunches with me. They are all suckers for a beautiful face. A sad, hungry face will get people every time.

I moved in with my foster family tonight, Trey and Iris. I typed out some things about me so they would know how to treat a lady.

I had all my stitches out today and I am ready for my forever family. I love all dogs and today, I met a cat. The cat slapped me across the face and made me cry. I just wanted to be friends. I guess she didn’t want a new friend. Her loss.

That’s all there is about me today. But stay tuned. I’ll share more during the week, as my foster family and I get to know one another.

11/13/23 Update:  Miss Sandy Beach is doing very well. She enjoyed dressing up for Halloween, and she enjoyed going to the Dia de los Muertos festival.

Sandy is very good with kids. She’s never met a stranger. She picks and chooses who she likes dog-wise.

She prefers to sleep on a pillow or some type of bedding, like a cot, although she will just conk out on the floor.

She pouts when she gets in trouble. And we are working with her on not marking her bedding. She loves sleeping right beside her foster mommy every night.
