Stacey Marie (Now Madeline Kahn)

Stacey Marie (Now Madeline Kahn)

Miss Stacey Marie, now known as Madeline Kahn (or Maddie), has a family to call her own!

It was a crazy day, but not even the rain or flooded streets were going to keep her away from her special adoption day.

She now has the best of both worlds: an active dad to keep her busy, and then at night, she can snuggle with her mom while she reads.

However, the best thing is that she’s now the Bulldog Queen of the house, with a best friend to grow up with!

Stacey Marie was an internet sensation after she was picked up as a stray. Her photo seemed to be popping up everywhere!

But at the shelter, her viral pics didn’t help her. She continued to wait at the shelter for her owners, yet no one came for her.

Can you imagine, with her prolapse, the pain and discomfort she must have had? Sitting on the concrete, waiting and hoping to go home and feel good again?

Maybe she was loved at one point? Or maybe not.

I really don’t have many words right now. It’s difficult to be positive when we see dogs like this. There are no bad dogs, just bad people…. people who should never have the honor of holding a leash.

2/2/24 Update:  Dr. Larsen and her team operated on Stacey Marie’s prolapse today. She did as well as can be expected, but will have to go through another surgery in the future after the swelling subsides. Please keep this girl in your thoughts on her road to recovery.

2/29/24 Update:  It was time for Stacey to pack it up and leave Dr. Larsen and head to her foster home today. It was a long afternoon for her, but she did fantastic. Oh my ~ she is adorable! She is on “bed rest” for a little while longer; however, we wanted to share a couple of pictures of her! Soon those stiches will come out and she will be able to run around and play.

3/8/24 Update:  Miss Stacey had her checkup appointment earlier this week. She was so excited for her appointment that she wanted everyone to know, “I’m here!” She did wonderful and got lots of attention from everyone in the office.  No one could resist giving her a belly rub! Now the great news………she is READY to be adopted!

4/12/24 Update:  As you can see Miss Stacey is all in and giving the look of, “Really? I have to wait my turn?”

She is very well-behaved and tries to get the resident dogs to play, but they are older and not as fast as her. They try, but quickly give up, as she is just getting started. She loves everyone, big and small! She also loves anyone who will give her a belly rub. She’ll make it easy for you and quickly turns over for it.
