Tauriel

Tauriel

Tauriel had the most wonderful time meeting Ralph and Michael yesterday, and it was love at first sight! She was her sweet, affectionate self, and her new dads immediately fell head over heels for her. Ralph and Michael decided to call her Lady T, and she’s already ruling her new kingdom as the queen of the house! Lady T is settling in beautifully and has already wrapped both of her dads around her paws.

If you are wondering why the heck someone would name me Tauriel (pronounced Tau•ree•el), well, let me tell you!

I found myself at a local shelter and they gave me a name. I spent some time there, having a little surgery and getting much needed medical attention. Everyone there loved me!

A family then saw me and thought I would be perfect for them, so I was adopted and given another name. It lasted a whole two days and then they took me back to the shelter… after just two days! I suppose not all people realize it takes some pups longer than two days to decompress and learn how to be a part of a new family.

Any way, I want back to the shelter, where I got my old name back! This time, the nice people there said they won’t let that happen again. They  called rescue and when the nice lady saved me she asked me what kind of name I would like. I told her I need something strong, like me. I’m a warrior and I know I deserve so much more in life than what I have been delt!

The foster lady said she had the perfect name for me: Tauriel. She’s a character in a hobbit movie who lead armies. It sounded perfect for me!

I’ll head to see the famous Dr. Larsen very soon to get my eyes checked, but other than that, I should be ready to find my future family soon.

I’m about 3 years old, 30 pounds and energetic!

10/25/24 Update:   Tauriel says two paws up for the couch life! Tauriel is a sweet girl, but can be a little overbearing and a little too playful for some pups. She needs to learn to play with pups who like to play like her and leave the ones who don’t like to play alone.

11/15/24 Update:  Tauriel completed all her vetting, and her eye stitch has been removed — she’s officially ready for her next home!

Tauriel is a snuggle bug at heart. She loves sitting on your lap, showering you with kisses, and receiving all the love in return. Her affectionate nature makes her the perfect companion for anyone who enjoys a cuddly, loving dog. She’s doing great with house training, with very few accidents — and none in her kennel!

This spunky girl is full of energy and always ready to play. Tauriel is very curious and loves to be in the middle of everything — she’s a social butterfly who just wants to be part of the action.

While she’s friendly and happy, she’s still learning how to navigate doggy social cues. She doesn’t always pick up on when other dogs need space, especially when they’re not as fond of her puppy energy. If another pup corrects her or feels threatened, Tauriel might try to escalate the situation. In those cases, she can be a bit persistent, so she’s best paired with dogs who are patient or not overly reactive.

Tauriel currently gets along well with five of the seven pups in her foster home. She doesn’t quite see eye-to-eye with foster girl Alexa and my personal dog, Dobby. Both of them can be a little more reactive, especially at the gates, which sometimes leads to a bit of a ruckus when the three of them are together.

Despite that, Tauriel’s loving and playful spirit shines through. She’s ready to bring her joy and spunk to the right family who can give her the attention, structure and love she deserves.

12/6/24 Update:  Tauriel is a very playful girl and loves toys! She won’t share with all pups, but she will share with those who are submissive and playful.
