Tex

Tex

Please keep Tex’s family in your thoughts as they had to say goodbye to the sweet boy. From his momma: Tex gained his wings last night. We adopted him April 23, 2021.

We were told he was a peace dog who didn’t follow you around much at all.

That was completely NOT who Tex was at our house. He was special for sure. He was attached to my husband and anywhere my husband went, Tex was on his heals. He loved car rides and expected one every weekend like clock work.

We worked through some food aggression at first, but we found how to handle it for the most part.

He loved sleeping in our bed, even though he couldn’t jump on it himself and required an elevator to get on the bed every night.

We will forever miss Tex. In just a year and half, he stole our hearts and taught us to love an adult dog. Some days, he even got Lady to be his friend.

Hey guys! It’s Tex here and I wanted to let all of my followers know that I’ve finally found my forever home. Yep, you heard that right. I was so excited that I fell asleep on the ride. My forever family learns new things about me everyday. They found out if you put a harness on me that I know it’s time to go. I have a new sister, Lady, and we get along just fine. She loves napping and snoring as much as I do. I now have two awesome human brothers that are older and enjoy helping take care of me. I’m still the same sweet, good boy that y’all have come to know and love, just on a new couch. I look forward to long naps on the couch with my family and lots of snacks and snuggles.

My family only wanted what was best for me and they thought I needed more attention than I was getting. With a 1-year-old child in the home and another one the way, I felt like I was put on the back burner. I found myself sad a lot of the time and watching TV by myself. It was a mutual agreement that I pack my backpack and join rescue. So, here I am looking for a fabulous new sofa to call my own!

3/19/21 Update:  Tex here and ready to find my forever family! I have had my medical needs addressed and I am ready to go.  At the age of 6 I am perfect for the family that likes a short walk, needs a movie watching buddy and has the desire to eat some great grub.  That pretty much sums up my needs.  Oh, I do love beautiful flowers and I am excellent helper in the garden.  So, if this sounds like your family hit me up. If you have some other fur animals that would be nice too. Except cats, I may like them, or I may not.  I can run pretty fast so here’s to hoping your cat runs faster than me!  Love Tex

4/13/21 Update:   Just here to let everyone know that I am changed foster homes today. That’s right, I am moving to Haslet until I find my furever family.

This morning, I got up and packed my backpack with some on my favorite treats, my toys, my blanket, and my bed. And I ran as fast as I could out the door.

Hot on my tail was the resident queen. She is the reason I am moving. Could it be my good looks? Could it be my passive attitude? Or could it be she is just a big ol’ B?

Whatever it is, she did not like me. Every day, she had to go to time out because she would lurk around the furniture until she saw me coming. Then, she’d come at me, full speed ahead. I don’t know why I was the chosen one, but it was time to move.

I am still waiting on my furever family. Maybe one with some nice dogs (no Bs please!) and maybe a kid or two. I love everyone and everything. The only medication I take is a joint supplement that has really helped me when I needed to run. Other than that, I am perfection.
