Thor Theo

Thor Theo

Today, Thor Theo packed up his things and climbed into his new mom’s car, ready to start an exciting new chapter of his life in Austin. Alongside him was his new sibling, an adorable 11-year-old pug, as they made their way to their forever home.

Nicole, a dedicated Bulldog lover who has adopted several rescues over the years, had been heartbroken after the loss of her last Bulldog. After taking time to grieve, she knew it was time to open her heart to a new furry friend. Thor Theo was the perfect fit, and he is now set to be showered with love and care beyond his wildest dreams.

While it’s always tough to say goodbye, knowing that Thor Theo will have the life he truly deserves fills my heart with peace. My love and best wishes go with you, sweet boy. You’ll always be missed, but your happiness brings comfort and makes room for the next rescue Bulldog in need of a home.

The tears fell like rain today as Thor Theo joined rescue. At just 4 years old, all Thor Theo had ever known was love, a home, and doggy daycare. But life has shifted.

Thor Theo’s mom has been spending long days in another state caring for a relative, and frequent work travel is the new reality. The result? Thor Theo spending time in boarding for too long.

While the boarding facility was wonderful—Thor Theo was loved there, and he loved going—it wasn’t enough anymore. Thor Theo longed for more: to be part of a family, to be the center of attention, the love of someone’s life.

The decision to surrender Thor Theo wasn’t made lightly. He was his mom’s first Bulldog, everything she had ever dreamed of. But life’s changes left her feeling like Thor deserved more than she could offer. She wanted him to have a family who could give him the attention, time, and love he so richly deserves.

Thor Theo is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves dogs, kids, walks, and all kinds of attention. He knows basic commands like “sit” and “shake,” and he’s neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and ready for a family to love him just as much as he has always been loved. Thor Theo is waiting for the perfect home where he can shine as the cherished companion he was always meant to be.

1/24/25 Update:  Thor Theo entered rescue as a well-loved pup, and it’s easy to see why. He’s incredibly sweet, well-mannered, and a joy to be around.

The resident Bulldog is thrilled that Thor Theo isn’t overly needy, so he only has to share Mom on occasion. That said, Thor does enjoy following me from room to room, but once he’s there, he happily settles onto whatever bed is available.

Despite the frigid temps, Thor Theo LOVES going outside to explore, always curious and eager. He gets along with everyone, making him a true delight to have around.

I have to admit, I’m surprised by how Thor Theo eats his kibble. He doesn’t scarf it down or finish it all in one sitting. He seems to be a grazer, but in this household, that’s not an option for obvious reasons!

Thor Theo will make an easy, wonderful addition to any family. He’s got the perfect temperament and is ready to bring joy to a lucky home.

1/30/25 Update:   Foster Mom told me it was OK to extoll my virtues. That’s how awesome I am.

So here goes….

#1. Foster Mom has given me the run of the house. That’s how trustworthy I am. I don’t mess with anything I shouldn’t, I’m totally housebroken and if someone were to break in, I would alert the neighbors. Contrary to the resident Bulldog, who’d sleep through it.

#2. I get along with EVERYBODY and everything. The 6-year-old grandchild wanted to take me home, I was so loving.

#3. I let Foster Mom do whatever she needs to do with me, including rub lotion on my nose three times a day. It’s looking better!

#4. I actually come when she calls me. None of that stubborn stuff.

#5. When it’s bedtime at night and she calls me to go to where the crate is, I follow her and jump in and snuggle down and sleep through the night.

#6. I enjoy giving and receiving affection, but I’m not so needy that the resident Bulldog feels left out as Foster Mom loves on me.

#7. I make no attempt to get on furniture. Of course, that means Foster Mom has to get on the floor with me, but in the long run, that’s a good thing.

Foster Mom says I’m perfect and some family will be very lucky to claim me for their own.

2/7/25 Update:  I’m a pretty humble guy, but Foster Mom says if I want to find my next family, I’ve got to show off just how special I really am.

I just had my birthday on February 3, and my Foster Mom made it extra special by having the mobile pet spa come give me the royal treatment! At the end of my spa day, the lovely Spa Lady—who’s as in love with Bulldogs as you are—said, “If I didn’t already have two female Bulldogs at home, I’d take this little guy in a heartbeat. He’s perfect. He even offered me his paw when it was time for his nails!” How sweet is that?

Foster Mom also noticed something pretty cool: unlike the resident Bulldog, I calmly accepted the exceptional treats and didn’t jump on the Spa Lady. It’s just one of the many reasons I’m a total catch!

I’m 5 years old and in the prime of my life. I can’t wait to find someone who will love me, just as much as my Foster Mom does. She thought she had the perfect Bulldog, but I’m here to give her Bulldog a run for his money.

I’d be the perfect addition to any family—whether you have other pets or not. If you are a match for me, you won’t regret it. I’m the whole package!
