Tillman

Tillman

Tillman entered rescue May 1st, 2022 and for 17 months he had a place for his food bowl! Foster mom had a routine when feeding and waking up Sunday morning it hit me that my food bowls were off! I was missing Tillman’s bowl and it was a little emotional!

Some come and go very quickly whereas others take a little longer and the ones that take a little longer seem to hurt a little more! I got a call Friday evening that an adopter had recently lost their fella at 15.5 years old and originally wanted to take some time and heal but they quickly realized how quiet their home was! They realized they were even more sad not having a bulldog to come home to. They also wanted to open their home to a senior and they would only have one dog at a time! They hit all the check marks for Tillman!

Tillman was great out in public but at home he had always wanted all the attention and sometimes was a little rough making it known to some of the other pups. We talked and they said we would be headed to Bulloween to meet him! They showed up, walked around with him, bought him some treats, he showed them his belly, and that was it. He was their man!

Tillman walked down that ramp and headed toward San Antonio and never looked back! Foster mom tried to get some hugs and kisses but he wanted nothing to do with me! I think somehow he knew that after waiting 9 years, he found the family he so deserved!

As I sit here and cry, trying to write this just know my heart is so happy to see him smile Sunday morning! His new mom spent an hour brushing him, which is one of his favorite things to do!

Tillman here and today was my lucky day! You see, I had a dad, and my dad and I were great friends but he worked a lot. And when I say a lot, it was a lot. Sometimes he was night shift, sometimes it was day shifts, sometimes it was 8 hours but most of the time it was longer. I spent a lot of my time in a kennel and frankly I was just getting tired of it, so my dad started looking for a new home for me to go to.

It just so happens that my dad worked with a lady that I knew, apparently the lady’s family owned my mom and she said she would take me since we knew each other. Talk about a small world. I was so excited to be with someone who loved my mom. I thought it was going to be my forever. But that is not what happened. I wasn’t with her long, when she had to move very quickly so I went to her parents house, which was my mom’s mom and dad.

So I thought, alright, this is even better! They loved my mom so they were going to love me. Well they had small dogs, they looked a little like chew toys. My new mom and dad thought I was going to hurt them little guys, so once again I was looking for a new home. I wasn’t hurting them though, I was just trying to play with them. That’s when the rescue wagon swooped in and said, Tillman, today is the first day of the best days of your life.

I am Tillman, I am 8, and I am one handsome guy!

5/12/22 Update:  Tillman is learning what it’s like to be a lap pup!

6/21/22 Update:   Tillman is the perfect chill dude! He loves everyone and everything! Except oral meds and getting eye drops, he does not like them and he usually wins the argument.

1/4/23 Update:  I’m checking in for Tillman because he’s a little too busy to write. Here, you can see what he thinks of using the steps for exercise.

Tillman is a hunk of love, like Elvis. He’s  good with his foster siblings, but he loves his snacks more.

3/3/23 Update:   Tillman is a great guy that just wants to find a human to be lazy with! At 9, he is pretty slow and likes to take his time. Unless it’s breakfast, dinner, or snack time, then the race is on! Snacks are a huge motivator for him. I am not sure how he does it but everything has to be off the counters or pushed all the way to the back because he will snatch and run( again he thinks what ever is up there is a snack)! If he is quiet and nowhere to be found, he is usually in the back yard with something he isn’t supposed to have…lol.

Tillman will be celebrating a big birthday this May and he is hoping that he gets to celebrate it with his furever humans.

7/25/23 Update:  Sunday Funday consists of chilling on the couch for foster kids Tillman and Kaitlin! What are your dogs doing to enjoy the day?
