AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! Trinity Jade is now with her new family.
One day, I was flipping through Facebook, watching TV and minding my own business. The next minute, I was told I had to leave right now!
Where was I going to go? I didn’t have any friends. Then, I remembered that great rescue I saw on Facebook. I knew they would help me!
So, here I am…. My name is Trinity Jade.
I’m a petite little girl, weighing in at 52 lbs., 14 oz, and I’m approximately 3 years old (not sure of my birthdate).
I’m super friendly ~ sometimes a little too much and need to learn some manners. No problem… I can do that. I’m very smart!
When I joined rescue, I was very dirty and didn’t smell so hot. I got the best bath and gave my foster mom tons of kisses because it felt so good.
I love going for walks, but get excited and overheat quickly, so we have to go slow. I love to check out everything.
Soon, I’ll be seeing Dr. Larsen. She’ll be really surprised to see how great I look. I’ll be giving her lots of kisses too!
5/18/23 Update: Trinity Jade is settling in and meeting some of the other dogs in our foster home. We’re taking the introductions slow. She’s strong, gets excited and wants to greet them by jumping on them.
She takes a daily walk to check out the neighborhood. She really loves her walks, but gets overheated quickly so we stick to shaded areas and go out early in the morning.
Trinity is partly house trained. Currently, she uses her pee pads at night, but will go outside to do her business during the day.
She loves stuffed toys and likes to suck on them. She doesn’t seem to have much interest in any other bones or toys. She also really loves attention and positive reinforcement! When she goes potty, she comes running back to me to get some big time rubs.
5/30/23 Update: Trinity is doing great!
She earns her keep in her foster home by helping with the laundry… which she’s very good at. We really have a lot of laundry because she likes all her towels and blankets super clean. If she’s slept on them, drooled a little bit or spilt water they need to be cleaned. I can always tell if she feels things aren’t quite right because she’ll stretch out on the tarp or even on the pre pads that are out. Once everything is clean and fresh she jumps on them and quickly goes to sleep.
We had an issue with her jumping or climbing out of her pen but that has been mutually resolved. The pen area is for bedtime only. She sleeps soundly in either her open crate or the pen and in the morning she comes out and joins us.
If you have to leave she will stay in her crate with no problem…. Just getting her in there can be challenging.. Pick up front two feet stick them in then pick up her back end and swivel it around….a couple treats and she happily goes to sleep until you return.
Trinity’s potty training has improved. Foster mom has just got to listen to her. If she wants to go out she will… if she looks at you like you’re crazy it means she doesn’t have to go. Drop it.
Everyone that meets her loves her. I mean how can you resist that face! She loves attention and affection and tries very hard to be a good girl. Someone will be very lucky to get her.
6/13/23 Update: Trinity Jade continues to do well in her foster home. She’s just the sweetest girl.
She loves belly rubs, kisses and responds really well to positive reinforcement and of course, treats.
She looks forward to her walks every morning and will stop and listen to the different sounds in the woods or cars in the distance.
Trinity likes to go to bed about 8 p.m. and will give me the tongue-out look as if to say “Isn’t it bedtime yet? I’m tired.” She goes right into her open crate in her pen area and sleeps soundly all night.
Her routine is to go out early in the morning (about 5:30) to do her business, then she goes back to bed while I get the rest of the dogs up. With a big yawn, she’ll get back up later when I bring in her food.
She likes the other dogs in the house. but is a little too strong and energetic for my smaller dogs and my older dog. She might do best with dogs closer to her size.
6/24/23 Update: Trinity Jade wants to let you know that she has discovered rabbits!
There she was, just walking along, minding her own business, when this crazy rabbit went hopping right by her. Boy, that rabbit was fast!
Trinity wasn’t sure what to make of it. But you better believe I had to hold on tight to that harness! Now we can’t walk across the backyard without her searching for that “silly wabbit.”
7-11-23 Update: Trinity Jade is starting to get along with the other dogs. She sleeps all night in an open crate in her pen. She loves her walks and has actually started doing a little speed walking, and her breathing is getting a lot better! She’s turning athletic … almost … and winning the hearts of everyone she meets!
1/11/24 Update: She is smart, likes to ride in the car, likes to go for walks…. and she is really training me well!
She had a couple of accidents (both kinds) in the house, but that’s on me because I didn’t realize when I needed to take her out: first thing in the morning AND after breakfast. We also go out multiple other times. She knows how to use the pee pad if necessary. I would not consider her “housebroken” yet, but she’s been moved around a few times, so we’ll give her a pass.
She does not like to be alone. She wants to be right with her human, which is fine with me. When I go out, I put her in her crate, which I think greatly annoys her. On the first night here, she got right in, all by herself. On succeeding nights, I’ve had to bribe her with chicken. Once she goes to sleep, she snores like thunder.
1/15/24 Update: She’s the most affectionate dog! She wants to be in my lap 24/7. She loves cars ~ riding in them and investigating them. She is house trained, but goes on a pee pad if she hasn’t been out and she needs to go. She loves to hop into whichever chair I’ve been sitting in most recently!
2/12/24 Update: When she’s not reading or napping, she loves to walk, ride, play. She wants to be with her people, no matter what they’re doing.
3/13/24 Update: Trinity’s foster mom went out of town for a couple of days so we are watching her. She’s only been here one day, but so far she’s been the perfect house guest. She gets along with the resident Bulldogs, loves going for walks and sunbathing. She wants to be where the humans are and follows me around 24/7. I can’t believe this sweet girl hasn’t been adopted yet!
