Well — the big day finally arrived! On April 27, Venom found his home with Adam and his beautiful 4-year-old fur daughter, Coco. From the moment they met, there was excitement, happy jumping, curious sniffing, and of course, a little adventure on a walk.
Once some of the wiggles were out, Coco gave her official stamp of approval: “Okay, Dad… he can come with us.”
After a long day and an even longer ride home, the new trio celebrated with homemade pup cups and are now all flopped out on the cool floor — Bulldog style.
Venom’s foster mom is already missing him, but her heart is full knowing he has a loving home and a tiny human playmate. After all, a guy can only handle so much pampering!
It was a sad moment when Venom joined rescue. His mom was heartbroken and Venom seemed confused,. We’re sure, to him, nothing made sense. At just 2 years old, he couldn’t understand why his world was changing so suddenly.
Venom was a beloved member of his family since he was just 5 months old. He’s potty trained, knows to go to the door, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs.
However, with the arrival of a new baby in the home, things became difficult. The baby’s crying would trigger Venom to bark, and sometimes his barking would make the baby cry even more, creating a cycle of barking and crying that neither of them could escape.
Surrendering Venom was an incredibly tough decision. His family loves him deeply, but the situation just wasn’t working.
Before joining the family, someone had cropped his ears to his head, probably thinking it would make him look mean. But nothing could be further from the truth—Venom is far from mean. He’s an incredibly loving Bulldog with a heart full of sweetness.
Venom is already neutered, but he does need some updated vaccinations. He’s a big boy with lots of energy and would do best in a family without small children unless they’re okay with being knocked over from time to time. He absolutely loves to play and has a goofy, affectionate side that will melt your heart.
With his cropped ears and name, some might wrongly think Venom’s tough or aggressive. In reality, he’s just a big, lovable teddy bear looking for a second chance at a loving home.
Venom is hoping there’s a family out there who will see past the tough exterior and embrace the sweet soul within.
Today, he’s missing his family, but he’s hopeful that we’ll find his next family for him soon.
3/26/25 Update: Venom may have that tough-guy look with his DIY ear crop, but inside? He’s all heart. This 2-year-old Bulldog is a calm, steady companion who wants nothing more than to be your loyal sidekick—your ride-or-die couch buddy, grass-rolling partner, and soft treat taker.
He’s not one for chaos or high-energy antics. Venom is laid-back, easy to walk on a leash, and perfectly content rolling around in the sunshine or stretching out for a good ol’ belly rub. He takes treats so gently, it’s like he’s trying not to crinkle the wrapper. He’s fully potty trained and gets along great with other dogs, blending in like he’s always been there.
And yes—he might look like he just stepped out of a backyard wrestling match with those ears, but don’t be fooled. That’s just his way of keeping up appearances. Deep down, he’s a “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” kind of guy—loyal, lovable, and full of heart.
If you’re looking for a best friend with a little quirk, a lot of love, and the chill energy of a Pixar sidekick, Venom is your guy.
4/2/25 Update: Venom is settling in beautifully with this first-time foster mom! As the only dog in the home, he’s soaking up all the love and attention ~ and we’ve quickly found our groove.
He’s had no accidents (or “on purposes”), sits at the door when he needs to go out, and is learning that mealtime is a good thing. He takes treats gently and has shown himself to be a sweet, gentle soul.
Though he came with a history of barking, he stayed silent until day #5 when he let out a single, appropriate “woof.”
While he’s the only pup in the current home, Venom gets along beautifully with other dogs and did great with children at our last Bulldog Bonanza- calm, patient, and loving.
Venom is the total Bulldog package!
4/14/25 Update: Don’t let the name fool you – Venom is 100% sugar, 0% bite.
His potential adoption fell through (blame a bad knee, not his!), so the softest “villain” in the rescue world is back on the market! The rescue team is now working to match him with another approved applicant.
He’s thriving while he holds out in his foster home. He’s still holding tight to his title as the Goodest Boi – with just a hint of mischief. The only crime this sidekick will commit is to steal your heart.
Venom is a gentle, low-key lover boy with a DIY ear crop and a heart made of marshmallow fluff. He walks beautifully on a leash.
Fetch? Sure, but only when he decides it’s time. He drops the ball, gives it a dramatic nudge with his nose, and then you may throw it.
Slippers are for stealing.
Toy boxes are for emptying.
And empty toy boxes? Clearly meant for more play.
He’s flying solo at home right now and soaking up the attention – but this charmer is totally dog-friendly and kid-approved. Just ask the fans he made at our last event.
Venom is sweet, steady, slightly sassy, and ready for his next home. Every hero needs a good villain… maybe he could be yours!
4/23/25 Update: Every night, like clockwork, he turns bedtime into a full-blown rock show. Bedroom laps. Bed launches. Tail tornadoes. All set to the imaginary soundtrack of AC/DC’s Thunderstruck.
Then? He faceplants into the covers and snores like a tour bus just hit a wall.
Kid-approved. Dog-friendly. Sweet as can be—with just enough mischief to keep life interesting.
Venom’s got the personality of a headliner and the heart of a cuddlebug. Someone get this boy a tour manager and a forever home.
