9/7/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: Lisa and Salvatore are no strangers to the Bulldog life. After the heartbreaking loss of their beloved Diamond several months ago, they knew their hearts had room for another, and when they saw Wendell Beauregard, they knew he was the one.
Though they committed to his adoption weeks ago, it wasn’t until this weekend that they could make the journey. And what a journey it was: a 20-hour road trip from Florida just to bring their new baby home! 💛
In the meantime, we sent daily photos and videos to help them bond from afar… but when they walked through the door and finally saw him in person, it was instant. The love in their eyes said everything.
Wendell, now lovingly known as Whiskey, is headed back to the Sunshine State, where he’ll be soaking up the sun, showered with love and living the life every Bulldog dreams of.
Cheers to forever, Whiskey!

5/28/25 INTRODUCTION: Please welcome Wendell Beauregard to our rescue family! He writes: I’ve already been on quite the journey in my short life.
I started out with a family, but I got lost and ended up in a shelter — and sadly, no one came looking for me.
Eventually, a kind family met me there and decided to adopt me. The shelter fixed my cherry eyes and had me neutered, but unfortunately, the cherry eye surgery didn’t hold. My eyes popped back out, and I’ve even got some suture material sticking out. Ouch. ![]()
My new family quickly realized that, even though they loved me, my medical needs and energy level were more than they could handle. So they did something really loving — they reached out to rescue to make sure I’d get everything I need. And today, I officially joined rescue! ![]()
The rescue lady cleaned my eyes and the sutures — it wasn’t exactly comfy at first, but let me tell you, it feels way better than those stitches poking into my eyes. I’ve also got a few small patches of missing hair, but nothing serious. Just a little skin thing we’ll get cleared up in no time.
I’m very active, love walks, and I do great on a leash! I am still working on my manners — I get a little jumpy when I’m excited, so I might not be the best fit for tiny kiddos. But for the right family? I’m a dream waiting to come true.
Stay tuned for updates as I settle in — I can’t wait to find the home I’ve been searching for.
8/16/25 UPDATE ~ From his foster momma: Wendell Beauregard is the full package: sweet, spunky, loving, and playful! At around a year and a half old, he’s got plenty of youthful energy and a big personality to match, but he’s also incredibly affectionate and eager to please.
Wendell loves to be near his people and will follow you from room to room like your very own shadow. He’s fully potty trained and we’re working on his manners. He’s learning not to jump up, and he’s this close to mastering “sit.” Smart boy!
He’s a pro in the car (jumps right in!) and walks beautifully on a leash. Mealtimes are a breeze. He eats slowly and gently takes treats from your hand like a true gentleman.
Wendell enjoys the company of other dogs, but his playful style can be a bit much for calmer companions. He’s a bit of a goofball and sometimes pesters his furry foster sister like a schoolyard bully (all in the name of fun, of course). He’s still young and learning the ropes of polite play.
Health-wise, Wendell is thriving. He breathes well and is in great shape. He just needs daily eye drops to keep those peepers happy. He’s also incredibly tolerant. He even lets me use the Dremel on his nails like a champ!
When it comes to toys, Wendell is very enthusiastic. He loves dumping the whole toy basket and spreading the joy across the living room. His favorites? A plush stuffed animal and a good old-fashioned tug-of-war rope.
He prefers the human bed to the dog bed (naturally), and had a blast splashing around on the tanning ledge of the pool. He’s definitely not afraid to get his paws wet.
Wendell Beauregard is a fun-loving, loyal companion with a heart full of love. He’s looking to be matched to a family who will embrace his silly energy, help him keep learning and let him be the snuggle bug he was born to be.
