Zelda May

Zelda May

Zelda May found her perfect family and has been adopted!

San Antonio is now where she calls home, with her mom, dad and Boston Terrier brother, Larry.

All reports from her new home are fantastic for this little sweetheart. Zelda is the kind of girl that lets it all hang out and subscribes to the life philosophy of, “I yam what I yam!”

Her playfulness and lovable ways draw everyone in and her new parents are head over heals in love!

Brother Larry is still a little on the fence with the new family addition, but she is slowly winning him over.

Happy tails, sweet girl. Foster mom will never forget you.

Bulldog lover’s it’s me Zelda May and I have joined rescue!

There was the question, “Should I stay, or should I go?” I just could not make up my mind.  Other than me having a “cherry eye” I am 100% perfect. And all that requires is a surgery, and before you know it I will be seeing fabulous out of that eye. I also need spayed, so I am going to have that done at the same time.

I am so friendly with all the dogs I meet. I even met a cat. I wanted to play with her, and she reached out and slapped me across the face with her paw.  I was shocked to say the least. She should be in time out, but she is still wandering around taunting me!

For a bulldog I am on the small size. I could fit easily in a backpack if someone wanted to take me on a hike. I have met lots of kids and loved them. I am working on learning to walk on a leash and it’s been a struggle. The leash goes one way, I want to go the other way.

I am having surgery on Tuesday, so get that application in. I have big plans for some summer fun and that includes a new family to make all those plans come true!

6/13/23 Update:  Zelda arrived in her foster home last week and we have been getting to know each other.

Zelda is getting along very well with her foster siblings. She just marched into the home saying “hi” to everyone, happy as can be. She has lots of playful energy and is very curious.

She is still healing from her cherry eye and entropion surgeries, and she takes the eye meds like a champ.

An interdigital cyst popped up, so she was introduced to “peanut butter baths” ~ soaking in a bathtub of Epsom salt and warm water. Zelda didn’t really get the “Let’s lick the peanut butter off the edge of the tub!” to keep her occupied. Instead, she more or less wore the peanut butter. But success! She soaked her little feet for about 10 minutes.

She is working hard on her house training and I feel confident it will continue to improve.

Zelda is loving, funny and will make a great companion for a family who has some Bulldog experience, a yard and submissive pups to play with. Maybe no small kids because she does jump and is still mouthy.

9/27/23 Update:  Zelda gets along great with the other dogs in the house, ,BB, Lola and Bruno. She loves to play, toys and shoes! She’s also a typical mill momma who needs your patience with  house training. She adores her people and loves snuggles and kisses.
