Zeus

I had a wonderful day yesterday: I got adopted! And I got my very own boy!  And a new family!

I said goodbye to my foster dad with one last ride on his shoulders, and then it was off to my new life.

I now have a fur sister too! I’m not sure if she was as excited as I was, but she will love me soon, I know it.

I just love my new mom, dad, brother and fur sister. How much better can it get?

I want to thank all of you in rescue: Tina for picking me up, Doc Larsen for fixing me up, and my foster family for helping me learn new manners and teaching me what it is like to live in a family.

I am off to a new and better life, and I could not have done that without rescue. Stay tuned – I’ll send pictures from my new home. Thanks again!

Rescue family, thank you for coming and picking me up from the shelter. My shelter photo was circulating so much on social media I really think I am almost famous!

My name is Zeus and I am 8 months old. My family surrendered me to a local shelter with a medical problem: a prolapsed penis, which is fixable. In fact, because I’ve been kept calm the last few days, I’ve only dripped a drop of blood.

I made an appearance at the rescue event today and everyone told me that they loved me. Everyone wanted to pet me and some asked when I would be ready for a family. I told them to keep an eye on me through social media as I begin my rescue journey.

Just remember: at 8 months old, I am going to have a lot of energy and I might need some potty-training help. A couple things I do know? How to walk on a leash and ride great in a car.

When I find my furever family, I know it will be one of the best days of my life!

1/10/23 Update:  New Year and a new foster home for me! I had been hanging out at the vet clinic with Dr. Larsen and everyone was great to me, but it was time to move on out.

I am having a great time playing with my fur brother. We play and run through the house together. I like the other dogs here, but they are kind of old and do not want to play so much.

I have learned to sit and to go outside to potty. I love my kennel and I sometimes go in there to take a nap when I get tired of playing.

I eat my food, I am neat, and most of all, I love cuddles and kisses! Foster Grandma tells me that I am the cuddliest dog that she has ever seen. I love to please!

All this bragging is to tell you that I am getting ready to start looking at the approved applications and YOU might be the lucky one to be my match! I really am one cool dude.

1/17/23 Update:  I was just sitting here wondering about my furever parents. I wonder who they are and when they will come and get me?

I am trying very hard to be patient, but it is hard for an 8-month-old little fellow to understand the delay. Foster Grandma said I need to be patient. I still need to work on my manners and how to behave. Then, a family will fall in love with me and be so impressed! I am trying so hard to do these things.

I am an active fellow who loves to play with toys, run and jump in the backyard. I like my fur siblings (even grumpy Lucy who will not play with me no matter how hard I try).

I can sit now, I know my name and I know what “STOP THAT” means, even if I don’t understand why I hear that so much. I stop and wait for something else to do.

I can play ball and I’m bouncy. Foster Grandma said that I might be too bouncy for a toddler, whatever that is. She said that it has only been a couple of weeks in the foster home, so there was more to learn.

If you want a bouncy, toy-playing guy who absolutely loves to hug and cuddle, I may be your perfect match!

2/14/23 Update:  Where did all that fun ice and snow go? I had such a great time outside playing in it. Foster Mom and Foster Dad couldn’t keep up with me! I flew like the wind around and around the yard. Gosh, that was fun.

Now there’s a bunch of mud… and not so much fun. But Foster Grandma said that spring is coming soon. I’m looking forward to that. I love to play inside, too. You see, I’m just a puppy still.

I get along great with my foster brother and sisters – except for grumpy Lucy, but she just growls at everyone because she’s really, really old. When she growls, I just lay beside her and look at her with love! I know one day she will play with me.

I also love, love, love to cuddle. I could do that all day long. I adore hugs! I get along great with just about everyone. I’m learning some new tricks and will do anything for Foster Dad!

If you are looking for someone to love and cuddle on Valentine’s Day and every day after, I may be your man! If you are looking for someone to play with, I may be your man too!
