Ziggy Marley Malone

Ziggy Marley Malone

7/1/525 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! Ziggy Marley Malone has officially upgraded to nearly 4,000 square feet of Bulldog bliss! At 96 pounds of solid Bulldog, this big guy now has the perfect space to stretch out and live his best life.

Last week, Ziggy Marley Malone had a meet and greet with Priscilla, a seasoned Bulldog lover and previous adopter. The connection was instant. Priscilla told Ziggy Marley Malone all about the peaceful neighborhood, the early morning walks, and the bunnies that love to visit the yard. Before they parted, she told him, “You’re coming home on Friday.”

Ziggy Marley Malone didn’t waste a moment. Adoption day arrived, and he was beyond excited! He rode perfectly in the car, walked right into his new home like he’d been there all along, and immediately began exploring. Priscilla had everything ready—his favorite toys, multiple beds, and cool tile floors that are just right for stretching out and playing with his beloved Giggle Ball.

Now going by “Clancy,” he’s settling in beautifully.

Priscilla shared this sweet update: “Clancy is a dreamboat. A perfect gentleman on our short, early morning walks—no reactivity and barely any pulling.”

Here’s to a lifetime of tail wags, bunny watching, and gentle walks. Happy tails to Clancy & Priscilla!🐾💙

INTRODUCTION: Ziggy Marley Malone has always been loved and taken care of. He’s lived a great life, so today’s surrender was emotional.

His family knew they had to move and Ziggy Marley Malone could not go with them. They were moving into an apartment and apartment living is not the life Ziggy wants to live. A smaller apartment and no yard? No thanks, he thought. After all, he’s rom Texas and everything is bigger and better in Texas.

And Ziggy is definitely bigger than the average Bulldog. He is probably 90 lbs. of Bulldog love! Plus, he’s just as sweet as he is big. He LOVES people and attention. His favorite activity is chasing a giggle ball though the house.

Ziggy thinks he is still a little fella, but in reality, he is like an oversized bowling ball. He’d  probably not do well in a home with small kids. Ziggy barks in a crate for a bit, but soon, he’s content to lay down and chew on a bone.

Ziggy’s perfect family would take him on long walks, let him be the center of attention and give him lots of love.

This week, Ziggy will visit Dr. Larsen and explain everything she needs to know about him. They’ll also plan his neuter surgery. After that, he will be looking for an amazing family to spend the rest of his life with.

6/7/24 Update:  The vet staff describe this big handsome hunk as one “big baby” who loves belly rubs.

He enjoys hanging with the guys, but definitely loves being doted on by the ladies. He’s very sweet and minds well.

9/12/24 Update: I’m convinced that Ziggy Marley Malone is actually a wise, emotionally savvy gentleman trapped in a dog’s body! After just one day with him, I’m already dreading the moment he has to leave.

Yesterday, on our way home from the vet clinic, I had to stop for gas. Picture this: I’m in my son’s sleek GT Mustang, feeling like a total boss, with Ziggy Marley Malone by my side. As I pumped gas, Ziggy Marley Malone stood right between my legs, as if he were my personal bodyguard, keeping a watchful eye on everything around us.

We always introduce our foster dogs gradually, but Ziggy Marley Malone made it easy. Within 30 minutes of meeting the resident pets, it was all playtime and nap time for him! He’s settled into his new home beautifully—no barking, no jumping on furniture, and he’s even mastered the art of guarding the door without dashing out.

Ziggy Marley Malone adores his toys, especially a special pink pig, and he’s made himself quite at home in a soft doggy bed. We’ve been soaking up the lovely weather, enjoying the fire pit, and relaxing on the back porch together.

9/20/24 Update:  Ziggy Marley Malone is settling in to his foster home perfectly. If you need a football-watching buddy who isn’t startled by the touchdown celebration yells, then he may be  your guy!  He slept through the whole game ~ and yes, he was invited on the furniture.

9/27/24 Update:  Taking care of a dog with dry eye may seem like an overwhelming task, but Ziggy Marley Malone makes it easy. He is such a good guy and I really think he understands that this medication makes him feel better. All Bulldog owners know that this breed sometimes comes with maintenance challenges ~ like wiping their hind ends, cleaning folds and wrinkles, to other daily grooming care. Yet Ziggy Marley Malone doesn’t need much, only these quick, simple eye steps once or twice a day.

10/4/24 Update:  Ziggy and I bought new toys this week. He’s also starting to really like the Amazon delivery guy (we’re all about the shopping!). With the weather cooling off, Ziggy has been getting more outside time and enjoys greeting our visitors. He rarely barks and rather waits his turn to be acknowledged. We also keep treats right by the door. That way, when he shakes hands/paws with people, we can return the favor of giving him a snack. He’s not picky on the treats. by the way!

12/6/24 Update:  The aftermath of Thanksgiving will consist of this all day! Family is gone, turkey has been eaten and the house is a disaster!

If you’re just looking for a cuddle partner, Ziggy Marley Malone may be your man. He’s estimated to be 7 years old, but he still plays like a puppy. And he loves his naps all the same!

1/30/25 Update:   Once you reach a certain age, you require a few accommodations.  Ziggy got to shower in the main bathroom yesterday. He couldn’t quite get his legs over the tub edge.

If someone is looking for a cuddly, lazy, good smellin’ roommate, Ziggy Marley Malone could be your man!

3/14/25 Update:  It is kennel and bed cleaning day! The bulldog side eye is side-eye’in!  This sweet guy loves to cuddle up and takes his nap time very seriously.  Don’t worry, the bed is in the dryer and will be back to his spot in no time.
