Adoption Application

SPECIAL NOTICE:

Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue only approves families that are absolutely committed, caring and qualified. They are families who know adoption is about saving a dog, not shopping for one, and are agreeable to being matched to the right dog for them. Adoption is a coordinated process between the coordinators, fosters and applicant. We can’t force you to adopt a certain dog, no more than you can demand to adopt a certain dog. We work together with our knowledge of the dog to find the best home. When you apply, you might have a particular dog in mind. But please understand, that dog may already be in the process of being adopted by an approved family who has been waiting weeks to be matched with the right dog. Because we are a non-profit organization, supported by generous donors and driven by hard-working volunteers, we ask for a $20.00 application fee, which will go toward our fosters dogs' vet bills.

This is non-refundable, even if your application is denied at any stage of our multiple-step review process (application, vet check, landlord check, interviews, home visit, meet-and-greets). We trust that this will be welcomed by families who believe in the mission of our life-saving work and agree that our top priority is our dogs. After submitting your Application, please go to our Shop on this site and select the Bulldog Application Fee. Your Application will not be processed until this is done.

While we're not opposed to adopting to a GREAT family out of state, the family must be willing to travel to us to meet the dog and we would need to have a volunteer who lives close enough to you to coordinate the home visit (a requirement for approval). Because of this, our out-of-state adoptions are incredibly rare and only in neighboring states.

Every question on this form is important to us. Should a question not pertain to you, simply answer the question with N/A. The more you tell us about yourself, the better! Please complete the below form to start the adoption process. To expedite the process please email your current pets vaccination records/proof of heartworm preventative to info@dfwbulldogrescue.org

Terms & Conditions

Lone Star Bulldog Club and Bulldog Rescue are in compliance with and support the Texas Health and Safety Code chapter 828 .002; which states EVERY dog rescued under our umbrella, either from a shelter, Rescue Society or private sources, will be spayed or neutered. Bulldogs are typically affectionate and friendly, and LSBCR will not knowingly place a dog with an unsound temperament. However, no one can predict how any dog will react in a given situation without complete knowledge of its life experiences before its rescue. Therefore, adopters are strongly urged to exercise prudence and caution in introducing an adopted Bulldog into a new situation until the dog has become fully adjusted to its new environment and the adopter has had an opportunity to become familiar with the dog’s unique personality. Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue makes no claims, representations, or warranties regarding the temperament, behavior, or future health of any rescued Bulldog.
