Landry Fox

8/5/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Landry Fox to our rescue family! There is simply nothing not to love about this handsome boy. He’s almost 2 years old and weighs 44.4 pounds of pure Bulldog charm.

Landry Fox’s original family loved him, but when life circumstances changed and they could no longer care for him, a family friend stepped in to help. With two children and two dogs already in the home, they did everything they could, but it became clear that Landry Fox wanted more one-on-one attention than they could give him.

Landry Fox is convinced he’s a lap dog. Unfortunately, all the available laps seemed to have prior commitments! After much thought, the family made the difficult decision to let him find a home where he could be the center of someone’s world.

Landry Fox arrived in rescue already neutered… a wonderful head start! On Monday, he visited Dr. Shiplov for updated vaccinations and a microchip, and now he’s officially ready for the next chapter of his life.

Now, about that charming personality… Although he’s neutered, Landry apparently didn’t get the memo that his “ladies’ man” days were over. He enthusiastically introduced himself to the female dogs in his foster home, only to discover they were bigger, bolder and completely unimpressed with his advances. After a few firm corrections, Landry Fox wisely retreated to another room to reflect on the importance of respecting boundaries. Every young gentleman has lessons to learn, and Landry Fox is proving to be a quick study!

8/8/26 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: Okay, it’s only been 72 hours, but this little dynamo has already made one thing very clear: he comes with A LOT of love!

Landry Fox started smooching me the minute Dianne put him in my car. So much for that whole “don’t put your face close to a dog you just met” rule! 😂

He had a one-night sleepover with Cindy Blu, who was not particularly impressed with his amorous advances. I’m working on this with him, because while Landry Fox is definitely a persistent little Casanova, he is very responsive to redirection when he gets carried away.

But WOW is this boy cuddly! 🥰 He is absolutely convinced he’s a lap dog and will happily jump into my lap for pets, snuggles and, of course, more smooches. He has sofa and bed privileges, and after a short bedtime zoomie session (and maybe one more attempt at his Casanova moves), he settles right down and has been sleeping about eight hours straight every night.

He’s doing great with potty training, too! He’s had only one accident and already seems to understand “outside potty,” so that’s going really well. 👏

He does like to nibble on hands, ears and chins when he gets excited, but I’m working on stopping that when he gets a little too amped up.

And this boy LOVES mealtime! He wolfs his food down and never leaves behind even a single kibble. He doesn’t drool, either, although he does drip a little water after he drinks.

He’s having a great time with his toys and loves taking them into his crate. Once they’re in there, though, he gets a little protective of his treasures. My solution? I’m buying duplicates so we can have longer play sessions without any toy negotiations. 😂

And OMG—the Wobble Ball! It was a HUGE hit. Maybe a little too huge.

Landry Fox chased that thing with so much enthusiasm that he knocked over a lamp, took down a fake tree and unplugged the router. Then he was so worked up that it took him a solid hour to calm down. The Wobble Ball is now safely stored in the washing machine and will be making only supervised, limited appearances from now on!

It’s been way too hot for much walking, and his current harness is too big, but we did make one trip to the mailbox. He did pretty well! He was a little stubborn, but he didn’t pull or try to bolt. I ordered a BullHug today, so I’m hoping it arrives by Wednesday and we can start trying some longer walks.

He was VERY excited to meet my daughter and the new baby. He took every opportunity to lick Rory’s feet! 😂 He also met the neighbors and was great with them. Rory has two Bulldogs, so she’s definitely familiar with the breed.

I haven’t had a chance to see how he does with other dogs or older kids because I don’t have access to either right now, so those are still things we’ll need to learn more about. But his overall disposition has been so good that I think he could do well with both.

And then there was today’s surprise…

He walked right into the shower with me. 🚿

So naturally, he got a bath!

After just 72 hours, I can tell you that Landry Fox is affectionate, cuddly, playful, food-motivated, enthusiastic, a little mischievous and absolutely overflowing with personality.

He’s also one heck of a smoocher. ❤️

I think we’re going to have a lot of fun getting to know this sweet boy!

8/9/26 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: Landry Fox seems a little more comfortable each day.

He will be the perfect boi for someone who doesn’t mind being followed from room to room, kissed, snuggled, spooned and sharing their lap with a quiet snorer.

He’s doing great with his potty routine and is a VERY enthusiastic eater, so a slow feeder may be in his future. He loves playing toss-the-ball/toy and proudly carries his treasures back to his crate, where he guards them with such dedication that his foster momma wisely forfeits the game.

He LOVES the Wobble Ball, and we’re looking forward to introducing him to leash walks and store adventures once his BullHug harness arrives.

Grooming is a piece of cake! Landry Fox followed me into the shower, calmly let me close the door and happily accepted a bath. Once dried off, he curled up on the bath mat and watched me finish my shower.

Clearly, this boy’s philosophy is: wherever my person is, that’s where I want to be.❤️He’s going to make someone a very lucky companion!

8/12/26 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: Landry Fox has been enjoying all the best things this week: cozy fireplace naps, belly rubs while being held like a baby, a 60-second suntan session and even some top-of-the-crate napping! ☀️🔥💤

He truly has all the classic Bulldog components: part goofy, 100% lovable and completely irresistible!
