Bane – now Emmitt – was adopted and living his best life surrounded by women! He sleeps in a big bed every night, gets to watch the activity from his deck on the lake, has daily walks around the neighborhood, and cuddles next to his mom while she watches The Bachelor. He knows he is her only love so he doesn’t need to watch it!
Bulldog people, sing it with me. Sing it loud and proud!
Should’ve Been a Cowboy by Toby Keith
I should’ve been a cowboy
I should’ve learned to rope and ride
I’d be wearin’ my six-shooter, ridin’ my pony on a cattle drive
Stealin’ the young girls’ hearts
Just like Gene and Roy
Singin’ those campfire songs
Woah, I should’ve been a cowboy
My dream came true when I moved to the ranch. All I did was sing that song all day long.
Way off in the distance, I could see the horses, and right then and there, I knew I had found my new best friends. And at 3-years-old, I could really make those horses giddy up and go. Most fun I had growing up!
But guess who did not like me chasing the horses?
The horses.
And my family.
Every day, I kept hearing, “If you get any closer, they are going to kick you and when that happens, you are going to meet Jesus.”
I tried so hard to behave. Each day, I got up and said to myself, “I’m not going to chase the horses today.” And then it was like a spell came over me. And the chase was on. Let’s giddy up and go, horses! And there I was, hot on their tails.
Finally, enough was enough. I had to find greener pastures… without horses.
I knew I was never going to stop chasing the horses ~ it was just too much fun. I packed my stuff, washed my bed, grabbed my sack of dog food and left the ranch in a cloud of dust.
It was a sad day indeed for everyone. There was crying, hugging and a lot of goodbyes. But I am going to be just fine.
If you are horse- and donkey-free and you don’t live with farm animals, I just might be the Bulldog for you. Deep down in my heart, I knew I should’ve been a cowboy, but it’s time to hang up my spurs.
