Batty Boop (now Stella)

Batty Boop (now Stella)

Boy, do I have some wonderful news… Batty Boop has been ADOPTED!

Bulldog lovers Nikki and Kelly had a Bulldog who sadly passed away recently.  Their home was feeling a little too quiet. They missed those Bulldog snorts we all love so much.

Nikki has followed Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue for years, so after losing their Bulldog boy, they knew just where to look for their next love.

When they saw Batty Boop, they fell in love. After looking at her pictures and reading her updates, they decided to go ahead and submit their application.

Last week, Nikki and Kelly made the drive up with their pugs in tow to meet and *hopefully* adopt Batty. Considering that Batty is perfect, all went well, so they loaded her up and drove off into the sunset. She also got a new name: Stella!

Nikki and Kelly are both retired and will be able to spend all their time with Stella, as well as her new pug sister Olive, pug brother Eli, German Shepherd sister Justice and cat brother Blue.

They’d already purchased her a stroller so she can hop in and ride when she’s gets tired on their walks, along with a whole basket full of goodies and a new bed. To say that this very special girl will be spoiled is an understatement.

As they say, good things come to those who wait, and wait she did. But I am confident in saying that she found herself the perfect family, just in time for Christmas. She will not want for anything ever again.

I’m thrilled her family was so excited about her. That’s what she deserves:  people who are over the moon for her – and she sure found them! My foster mama heart is full from this adoption.

When I arrived at the shelter it was the best day of my life!  I have suffered way too long. You can see from my pictures that someone did a “hack job” on my ears. The first thing Ms. Wendy said when she saw me was, I looked like a bat to her, and she wanted to name me Batman. But then she recognized the fact I was a little lady and changed my name to Batty Boop!

My ears are infected and bleeding. I have had many babies in my day. I am heartworm negative. I am super shy when you meet me.  Most likely I will run away when I see you but will crawl back when I realize you mean no harm. Ms. Wendy says I need to gain some weight and that it’s going to take more than a few bathes to make me smell like roses!  That’s fine by me, I love bathes and Ms. Wendy makes me feel so special when she bathes me.

I may not be the cutest bulldog in the world, but I make up for it by being the sweetest in the world. So, if you think we can be best friends please send in an application for me, Batty Boop with the silly grin.

9/27/23 Update:  Batty Boop is hanging out with this foster mama and the DogFather until she can be placed in her actual foster home. She’s been here for about a week and here’s my report:

She’s perfect. That is all.

Just kidding. I mean, not about the “perfect” part, but I’ll elaborate.

She has had no accidents in the house and only a couple in her crate overnight. She plays well with the other dogs, listens and obeys really well, absolutely loves affection and has a very cool temperament.

She loves to wrestle with foster boy Dunn in particular and makes the funniest noises when they’re rolling around.

Her tail is my favorite and when she really gets excited, her whole body wags.

She’s thin, but we’re working on that. She eats well, but only if you sit with her while she does so. It’s a little quirk that’s easy to manage.

She’ll make a fine addition to any home and I’m sure going to be sad to see her off to her next foster home. She’ll be only about 15 minutes away and I have a feeling her new foster mama will allow visitations.

10/14/23 Update:  Who says bats only come out at night?  Batty and I visited Dianne at Puckett’s today!

Batty wanted to smell each and every pumpkin, squash and piece of hay.  She did not, however, want to pose for a picture because she was very very busy but I think these turned out great, don’t you???  And I think Batty would look great in your home!  She’s so sweet and has an easygoing temperament.  We took her to the Peanut Festival in Aubrey and she absolutely bathed in all the affection and pets she got from everyone.  Picture of the queen in her chariot included.

11/3/23 Update:  Batty Boop wants you all to know that she is still perfect.  She’s sweet, cute as a button, has such soulful eyes and loves to snuggle.  She doesn’t potty in the house, sleeps great in a crate or pressed up against you in bed, she gets along with all dogs and LOVES people!

She’ll sit and let you pet her for as long as you want and will politely move along when you’re done.  She doesn’t get upset if her meals are late.  She sits patiently when you come home, waiting for you to greet her.  She loves riding shotgun and watching the world go by.

There’s not one thing I can think of to say about this girl that’s negative.  Not one.  She’s so chill and nothing fazes her.  She’s a happy girl who deserves a forever home.  Is it yours?

11/7/23 Update:  I’ve been racking my brain over here wondering WHY no one has scooped up this girl!

She’d be happy in a home with other dogs or a home where she’s the only dog.

She’d be happy in a home with children, and she’d be happy in a home with no children.

She’d be happy in a home with one person, two people or 37 people!

Bottom line is: she’ll be happy anywhere with anyone, as long as she’s loved.

She even knows how to wait patiently in the snack line.

Let’s be honest: she’s not classically beautiful.  But don’t let that make you miss out on the opportunity to have the bestest friend you’ll ever have!

Batty is sweet, loving, well-behaved and so deserving of a forever home. She was used for breeding, had her ears cropped (hacked, in my opinion) and she is ready for the loving family she’s always deserved. Is it yours?

11/24/23 Update:  Batty Boop is displaying her disappointment that she still hasn’t found her next family!

I took her to a girlfriend’s house the other night, where we had “patio party” (the gals just get together and catch up once every month or so). One of my girlfriends scooped Batty up, bundled her in her blanket and that’s where she (very happily) remained for the rest of the evening. She’s so happy to just be loved.
