10/28/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: Our hearts are a bittersweet mix of happiness and a touch of loneliness because Bing Blue Eye found his perfect home!

Back in May, Bing Blue Eye joined our merry band of critters right after being released from the miracle workers at Allen Veterinary Hospital. Throughout his long recovery, he kept us entertained and smiling every step of the way. He never missed a chance to show just how much love and affection one sweet boy could give. 💕

Now, Bing Blue Eye is off to start his next chapter with his new fur brother Moose, surrounded by love and care from Jeffrey and Jeff. We couldn’t ask for a better match!

Our fingers (and paws) are crossed that this new adventure is every bit as perfect as we know it can be. 🐾

INTRDODUCTION: Another day in rescue. Another heartbreaking case of Bulldogs dumped like trash.

These two — now named Chloe Lovelady (brown) and Bing Blue Eye (merle) — were found abandoned in the countryside, miles from anywhere. Alone. Starving. Wandering. If starvation didn’t kill them, a predator surely would have.

A kind man opened his back door to find them collapsed on his porch. He called his sister, a passionate advocate for rescue dogs — she called us, and we called David, our incredible transport angel from San Antonio. David and his wife didn’t hesitate. They hit the road that same day.

Bing Blue Eye is in critical condition. He’s bleeding steadily from his anus due to a severe colon impaction — likely from eating a dead animal out of desperation. He’s high heartworm positive, weak, and barely able to stand. He’s on IV fluids and has had a sedated enema, and he’s in no condition for surgery. Right now, all we can do is support him and hope for a breakthrough.

Chloe Lovelady is in better shape. She’s not pregnant, though her belly is distended from a heavy worm load. Both were covered in ticks. Despite it all, Chloe Lovelady ate her food this morning and was walking around when I visited.

As for Bing Blue Eye… he looked up at me, then looked away. It’s as if he’s already given up.

Thank you to Lana, David, and his amazing wife for dropping everything to help save these two.

Please keep Bing Blue Eye in your thoughts — he needs a miracle, your prayers, and every ounce of hope you’ve got.

5/23/25 UPDATE:  Bing Blue Eye (a.k.a. “The Happy Humper”) is doing great and continues to be an absolute sweetheart! His new favorite hobby? Pooping—he’s really taken to it like a sport.

He loves his food, so we’re sticking with smaller, more frequent meals to keep his tummy happy. Mealtime manners are still a work in progress, so he eats in a separate room for now—he doesn’t quite understand the concept of personal space!

Despite that, he’s feeling more secure each day. We’re getting plenty of cuddles and sweet, heart-melting looks.

Housebreaking is still in progress, but he’s comfortable in his kennel and does well with his medication. His left ear looks a little rough, but thankfully, it doesn’t seem to bother him.

One thing he doesn’t love? Thunderstorms. He’s definitely not a fan.

We’re so proud of how far he’s come already—this boy is learning what love and safety feel like.

7/7/25 UPDATE:  From Bing Blue Eye’s foster momma: Bing is truly the sweetest guy, with a personality as unique as his name. When he first arrived in rescue, he was underweight and dealing with some significant medical issues—but bit by bit, things have started going his way.

He’s gained all the weight he needed (his foster parents only wish they themselves had been given that directive!), and recently finished his pre-heartworm meds. Then it was back to his favorite place—the vet hospital. Or as Bing puts it, “that building next to the one with all the pretty plants and flowers.” There, he began his heartworm treatment, got a cut on his ear fixed, and the vets confirmed what we all suspected: he does in fact have two blue eyes—one is just partially hidden by a cherry eye.

Once back home, Bing settled in like a champ. He’s as cuddly and affectionate as ever, with a gentle spirit and a great sense of humor. On his first day back, he tried to mark a few spots in the house—just to reestablish his territory, of course—but quickly let his foster dad know he was “just kidding.” Since then, he’s gotten much better about letting them know when it’s time to go outside.

A few days ago, Bing gave everyone a good laugh when a large bag of dog food was delivered. His foster dad brought it inside and left it by the door… and Bing promptly appointed himself official food guardian. For an entire hour, he sat in front of the bag, growling protectively anytime a dog or cat came too close. I finally intervened and asked Foster Dad to transfer the food to its container—so Bing could finally rest from his self-appointed duties.

Bing also got to meet some extended family members recently—including a 3-week-old baby! He was curious and very polite, wanting to sneak in a kiss. When told no, he respected the boundary… but did try to inch his way behind the person holding the baby by climbing up the couch. Just wanted a look, honestly. (Mom and Dad, he swears!)

He’s doing great with his limited activity post-treatment and still needs to eat separately from the other dogs for now—but truly, he’s the sweetest, funniest, most affectionate little gentleman you could ever meet.

8/6/25 UPDATE: From foster boy Bing Blue Eye: My name’s Bing Blue Eye, but around the house, everyone calls me Frank. Apparently, it’s a nod to my foster dad’s Chicago roots and some blue-eyed singer named Frank—go figure!

Life’s been moving right along for me. I’ve pretty much mastered doing my business outside (go me!), and I’ve got two Bulldog sisters who are my absolute best buds. I used to poke a little fun at my German Shepherd brother just to keep him on his toes, but I’ve chilled out a lot since then.

I recently finished my heartworm treatment—yay!—and I’ll be heading back to see my friends at the vet soon to get neutered and have a little procedure on my eye. Nothing I can’t handle.

My foster parents say I’m absolutely adorable and super affectionate. I take my job as household guardian very seriously—especially when it comes to protecting the cat food or supervising the dog food deliveries. They seem more amused than grateful, but I know they secretly love it.
