I’m checking-in and checking-out!

Back in January, I decided to make some life changes. After a couple of phone calls to some place called “Rescue,” I got a foster Uber and headed out to the country.

My new foster folks bathed me and I got my nails done. The weather wasn’t great, so I insisted on warm clothes when I went outside. The foster folks seemed to get really excited when I went potty outside, so I decided to start doing it all the time. They would clap and cheer ~ it was weird, but they really seemed to like it!

After a month with the foster fam, I was healthy and re-energized. I was sure they’d miss me, but I felt I had more love to give and life to live. Adopting a family just seemed like the natural next step.

That’s right ~ I adopted a family! I got myself a new mom, a dad, a couple of kiddos Heck, I even got my own doggo! Her name is “Lucky” and boy-oh-boy, is she ever. I plan to teach her all my best tricks, like laying down on the couch, eating all the treats and snoring super loud. It’s going to be awesome!

When the rescue wagon rolled up, I knew it was time to go. My family is going through some difficult times. They need to focus on some things other than me.

For a long time, it was just me and my dad. There were a lot of days I was so lonely. When I looked out the window, I longed for the time I could go outside for walks. But my dad is sick and most of my days were filled with just wishing things could be different.

When I heard my dad was not getting better, I became sadder and sadder. As a social butterfly, it sure is hard to be social when there’s no one to be social with me. I was super excited when the idea of rescue came about.

I have some things to work on, like potty training and eating slower. I’m told I “inhale like there’s no tomorrow.” But, I’m still young and eager to learn. Today, I am working on “walk, don’t run.” That way my foster mom can actually take some more photos of me.

1/15/24 Update:   I’ve been in my foster home for almost two weeks. I’m really starting to settle in and let my personality show.

Some things to know about me:

*I am a 100% pure good boy. Just as sweet as I am cute.

*I get along with all four resident dogs.

*I love to eat and lay next to any human that sits on the couch.

*This week, I started playing with toys.

*I am 90% better at my potty training. I do have an occasional accident, but in my defense, it’s cold outside.

*I do not like the cold. I refuse to go out unless Foster Dad puts me in my hoodie.

I sleep through the night without an accident.

I’ll see Dr. Larsen on Wednesday to get neutered and then I will be going through the approved applications to find a family perfect for me.

1/25/24 Update:  I just wanted to let everyone know I am recovering nicely from my neuter and I have really settled in at my foster home.

I am hoping to find my forever family by Valentine’s Day. Why? Because that’s a day of love and I have so much love to give!

I will help you with your chores (dishes) or snuggle with you on the couch. I am easy going and will do whatever you want.

I am hoping for a family with other dogs and/or kids of any size. And a family who likes to stay indoors during the cold…. I’m still not a fan of the cold. I enjoy laying by a nice fire. My foster dad got me a heated blanket and I like to sleep on that instead of in my crate at night.

2/2/24 Update:  Today, I went to the vet and had my stitches removed and my nails trimmed again. So cool! I absolutely love car rides and I get really excited when I know I get to go.

I was the best boy at the vet. I politely greeted people and let everyone pet me. I was very friendly with all the dogs there and even sat nicely so a 3-year-old girl could give me scratches.

I finish my antibiotics tomorrow, then I am ready for my next family! Maybe I’d be a good fit in your home?
