5/2/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Petra to our rescue family.

Found by local animal services in a construction area, she was surrounded by noise, chaos and uncertainty. But today she’s stepping into something completely different.

Her name comes from the ancient city of Petra… a place carved into stone, built slowly over time and revealed in breathtaking beauty.

She may be a little unsure today (even a bit petrified by all the change), but just like her namesake, there is something strong and beautiful already within her.
From construction dust to a foundation of love… Petra’s real build starts now.

5/10/26 UPDATE ~ From foster girl Petra: Hi friends, Queen P here.

It’s only been a few days, but wow… my life has been BUSY in the best way! I got to go to school, meet lots of other dogs and play all day long (which, honestly, is exhausting, but so much fun).

I also had a visit with the vet. He gave me a full checkup, I had my surgery and now I’m taking a few meds to help me get all fixed up. The good news? He said once I finish my medicine, I should be good as new! I do have some allergies, but I started a new medication that should help me feel much better.

I’m adjusting really well to my new surroundings and learning that this world may not be so scary after all. In fact, it’s actually kind of amazing. So many smells, cozy spots, fun adventures and people to love.

The resident Bulldog, Bubba, has been showing me the ropes and teaching me all about the good life. I absolutely love having free run of the house and settling into this new routine.

Now all I need is my next family. I hear I’m not that far off from my happily ever after.💕

5/16/26 UDPATE ~ From foster girl Petra: I’ve been a busy girl fighting off a double ear infection, double eye infection, and a staph infection. Talk about trying to do the most all at once.

On top of that, I got all fixed up and am now getting ready for a future surgery to help correct my palate so I can breathe better. It’s definitely a long road, but I’m a tough girl and getting stronger every single day.

Now… let’s talk about my biggest struggle: potty training. 😅 For some reason, I still can’t quite figure out that potty is supposed to happen outside. My foster mom keeps telling me, “Queenie P, you are so smart, why is this so hard for you?”

Honestly? I just look at her with my big eyes and remind her that I simply want to be by her side at all times. Outside, inside… details, details.

I’m also learning what it means to trust people. That’s been a big journey for me, but my foster mom is helping me so much. I trust her completely now, and I’m slowly learning that maybe other humans can be pretty great too.

What I do know for sure is this: I would make the perfect little sidekick.

I know I’ll be matched to a family who needs a helper, shadow, best friend and loyal companion all wrapped into one adorable Bulldog package. I’m that girl! I’ll go anywhere and do anything, as long as I can be right next to you. ❤️
