Bo Diddley

Bo Diddley

What’s love got to do with it? Everything. I remember the day Sheliah and I picked up Bo Diddley from a local shelter. He was terrified, smelled terrible, and had patches of fur missing. I couldn’t help but wonder, “What happened in your life to make you so afraid to be touched?” And he was just a puppy. If he saw you, he would run and hide. That went on for months—”Now you see him, now you don’t.”

That was back in June. And now, look at Bo Diddley—a completely different Bulldog. He’s big, strong, with beautiful fur, and most of the time, he’ll happily eat out of your hand. But, every now and then, he still has flashbacks to a time when his life wasn’t so kind. He might run and hide, just for a moment, but the progress he’s made is incredible.

Once Bo Diddley moved in with his foster mom, Sheliah, he never left. From the very beginning, he captured her heart. Sheliah earned Bo Diddley’s trust, and it felt cruel to take him away from the only person he truly trusted. It was clear that they were meant to be together.

So, the rest is history. Bo Diddley moved in, and he’s never looked back. A match made in heaven. Bo Diddley was the lucky one, but honestly, everyone should get to live with foster mom Sheliah forever. It’s a fabulous place to call home.

I started my journey as a little pup wandering the streets of South Dallas, searching for food and some kindness.

Luckily, some kind-hearted people noticed me and reached out to animal control, who then connected me with Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue.

When I first arrived, I was incredibly skinny, and Dr. Larsen discovered I had lots of little bugs inside me. But now, thanks to their care, those days are behind me. My hair is growing back and I’m learning all about indoor life with my foster mom and my furry brothers and sisters.

My foster mom says there isn’t a mean bone in my body—just lots of love to give.

My foster mom also mentioned something about another visit with Dr. Larsen to “lose some little body parts” (I’m not quite sure what that means!), and then I’ll be ready to find my next family. Could that be you? If you’re my perfect match, I’m so excited to start our journey together!

8/22/24 Update:  I wanted to drop you a line and a photo to show how handsome I am getting! I know it’s true because my foster mom tells me that every day.

I am going to go see Dr. Larsen this week for a little snip/snip, my foster mom said. I wonder what that is?

Anyway, I like everyone at the vet clinic and my foster mom said she would come get me the next day.

Then, we are going to get serious about finding me a family. My foster mom always hugs me really tight when she says this . I think she is going to miss me.

Hope to see you all real soon.
