Brodie Dean (now Bro)

Brodie Dean (now Bro)

2/8/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: Brodie Dean, lovingly known as “Bro,” now is officially heading to Colorado!

Because Brodie Dean is deaf, he couldn’t hear the excited chatter on the road to his adoption. All he knew was that he was getting into the truck with his foster mom and dad and heading out somewhere new. Trusting as ever, Brodie Dean was ready for the adventure ahead.

When he arrived at his destination, a wonderful family was waiting just for him. From that moment on, Brodie Dean’s new life began. He’s headed to Colorado to start fresh with his family, and he’ll even have a brother to play with and grow alongside.

Dad shared how excited he is to welcome another deaf Bulldog into his life. He’s looking forward to training Brodie Dean and teaching him new signs so they can communicate and build a strong bond together. Mom is thrilled to have another sweet baby to love on and spoil.

Of course, foster mom made sure Brodie Dean didn’t leave without pieces of home. Packed carefully in his go-bag were his favorite blanket, toys and homemade treats to enjoy during the journey to Colorado… little reminders of how loved he has always been.

Here’s to Brodie Dean’s new adventures, new lessons and a lifetime of love. We know his future is bright, and his story is only just beginning.

12/19/25 INTRODUCTION: Please welcome Brodie Dean to our rescue family! From his foster momma: Brodie Dean has always known a loving home, but his family made the heartfelt decision that he would thrive best with a family experienced with a deaf Bulldog.

True to his adventurous spirit, Brodie Dean happily jumped into the truck and set off on his next chapter without ever looking back. He’s always ready for what’s next!

Brodie Dean is 6 years old, neutered and up to date on all vaccinations after a recent vet visit. The vet noted just two minor issues and being deaf was not one of them!

He had a small growth on his left leg that was removed earlier this week.

He tested positive for a tick-borne disease and is currently on medication. The vet explained he may continue to test positive in the future due to antibodies, even after treatment.

Aside from that, Brodie Dean is truly AMAZING. He is fully house-trained, does wonderfully with our 10-year-old granddaughter and gets along great with his new friend, foster girl Izzy Winter.

His deafness doesn’t slow him down at all. Brodie Dean communicates by watching his people closely, staying alert, and following visual cues.

He enjoys going on walks, playing a fun game of chase with a laser light, but his absolute favorite thing is simply hanging out with his family. Brodie Dean is a loving, loyal companion who will happily be by your side for whatever adventure comes next.

1/1/26 UPDATE: We’re working to match Brodie Dean to the best family for him! He writes: I’m a very good boy who somehow lucked into the most awesome foster parents ever. They don’t see me as “a foster with a disability”—they see me as a loving, slightly mischievous dog who takes his breakfast and dinnertime reminders very seriously. (You’re welcome.)

After my buddy Tanner Slick-a-lick found his home, I swooped in and claimed the best spot in the bed. Victory is sweet.

I do have a small thing that makes me special: I’m deaf. Some people think that’s sad, but I think it’s pretty cool. I’m an expert at eye contact, world-class snuggles and if I’m asleep, no loud noises can ruin my beauty rest. Win-win.

Foster Mom is always in the kitchen cooking up amazing food and treats for us pups. I use my Jedi mind tricks (very advanced, by the way) to convince her I need taste-testing duties. Foster Dad “works from home”… or maybe he’s just on a really long vacation. Either way, it means I get to curl up next to him on the couch for rubs and maximum coziness.

When Foster Dad grabs my leash, I RUN over and slide my head right into it—because that means WALKS. We started with one block, and now I’m up to about a mile and a half… or, in dog terms, every single road in the neighborhood. I’m basically a local celebrity.

Don’t tell Foster Dad, but Foster Mom is still my favorite. 🤫

At exactly 7 p.m., I bark to remind everyone that it’s treat time. I am especially obsessed with freeze-dried hearts. After treats, I march up the stairs next to the bed, hop into bed and snuggle right up against Foster Dad’s back so I can sleep all night like a champion.

There’s also a tiny human who visits three or four times a week. She’s the BEST. She plays with me, roughhouses with me and treats me like the king I am. I read their lips and they call her a “granddaughter” (not sure what that means), but I know it equals playtime. I do try to sneak into her room sometimes. She leaves toys on the floor, and honestly… fair game.

Christmas is done, all my vet visits are complete and I even had a little skin tag removed. I got a clean bill of health, which I’m pretty sure means I’m officially ready to find my own family. I love my foster home, but I do have to share it with Emerie, the Bulldog (who looks like a tiny hippopotamus) and another foster pup, Izzy.

So for now—
Brodie Dean out.

Until I find my permanent family… Paws up, and remember:
If no one has told you they love you today, just know that I love you.
