I knew something was going on when Foster Dad took me out for a car ride on Saturday without my foster brother and the resident Bulldog. I was solo!
When we got out of the car, I got to meet an amazing couple who told me they drove five hours just to see me. I was amazed and excited at the same time.
We hung out together for a little while and when it was time for Foster Dad and me to leave, they said they would see me tomorrow. I didn’t quite know what that meant, but I was looking forward to seeing them again as we all had a great time together.
Yesterday, when I saw the couple again, they told me they wanted me to join their family. I couldn’t say yes fast enough! I said, “Gas up the car and let’s roll! I found my furever family!”
So, off to South Texas I went and I’m already settling in quite nicely.
Yes, this is my happy face! I knew you were going to ask. I thought I would just let you know up front that my happy and sad faces are one and the same.
I joined rescue yesterday ~ oh happy day!
A few months back, I ended up at a local shelter. I sat there for a while waiting for my family to come, but they never did. The shelter adopted me out to a lovely couple. And that’s when the problems started.
I thought I fit in like a glove, but the family’s senior dog didn’t agree. He didn’t want a fur sibling. I was so nice to him, but time and time again, he wanted to fight. And, as you can see, I’m a small fella and I have no fighting skills.
I was excited to hear I was going to return to the safety of the shelter. However, the shelter was full and didn’t have space for me. I was getting really worried, until my family found rescue.
So, here I am joining rescue and putting on my “happy face.”
My next home will be my forever home. I can already see it…. it will have a super sweet family and really nice dogs! My name is Bruno Miles. I am about 2 years old and I’m looking for a forever home to call my own.
3/7/23 Update: The last two weeks have been quite the adventure. I finally met the amazing Dr. Larsen and got some much needed medicine for my GI issues. I still have problems from time to time with holding my food down, but it’s not nearly as frequent as it was before. I’m doing a lot better with house training and the accidents have been minimal.
I really enjoy exploring and playing with Ace Ventura, as well as the resident Bulldog. I may even “borrow” the resident Bulldog’s bed from time to time for a little siesta.
I can wrassle with the best of them, but my stamina needs a little work. Frequent breaks are a staple. My cuddle skills are top notch and I’m always down for a back and belly scratch. I’m feeling a little better each day and should be in tip top shape soon.
