And just like that, a piece of my heart has found his family, and I couldn’t be happier or prouder of Buddha Braveheart.
Buddha’s love for life has always been so evident—especially when it came to jumping! On me, over me, on top of other dogs, and even straight onto the kitchen table. Buddha thrived in the spotlight, always the happiest when he was the center of attention.
He went through professional training to help him learn that jumping up and dancing on his back legs wasn’t the best way to get attention. A week after training, I had to laugh when the trainer asked how Buddha was doing—I replied, “Well, he’s still jumping and dancing on his back legs!” But that’s Buddha, and I loved him dearly for it.
Then he met Aaron and Amy, and everything changed. It was as if Buddha realized he didn’t need to jump for attention anymore. There was a calmness in him, a sense that he had found his home, a place where he would be loved forever.
Buddha now enjoys long walks around the lake, watching the ducks, and meeting new people along the way. He’s still tried to jump on the kitchen table a few times, but keeping the chairs pushed in seems to be the solution for now.
Time will tell, but one thing is for certain—Buddha has found his people.
Buddha Braveheart is the definition of perfection—40 pounds of pure sweetness wrapped up in an 18-month-old Bulldog.
He recently joined rescue after his dad had to move from a spacious home with a big yard to a smaller place. Buddha Braveheart is already neutered, current on vaccinations, and, aside from a mild rash, he’s in great health.
Buddha Braveheart absolutely loves other dogs, but people are his true passion. He adores humans of all sizes and is always ready for some love and attention. His ideal family will be active, someone who’ll take him on walks or even to the store. He’s never been crated, but he’s curious and likes to investigate, always asking “What’s up there?” in the sweetest, most innocent way.
Buddha Braveheart knows how to sit (especially for treats—he LOVES treats!), and eats from a slow feeder to keep his eating pace in check. To meet Buddha Braveheart is to fall in love with him—he’s truly an amazing pup.
