Charlotte Ann

Charlotte Ann

A few weeks before Bull-O-Ween, we rescued Charlotte Ann from a local shelter. At Bright Star Veterinary Clinic, Doc gave her a thorough checkup and prescribed ear packing medicine for her severely damaged cauliflower ears.

Doc quickly called her a great dog, and I saw that for myself almost immediately. Charlotte Ann was a total trooper—taking all her meds, even letting me pack her ears, without a single fuss or whimper. Did I mention she’s a GREAT dog?

Charlotte Ann needed a quiet, calm environment as she would experience head tremors when there was too much activity around her, so I welcomed her into my home. She settled in right away, showered me with love, and I did the same. Despite her almost deafness, cauliflower ears, and tremors, she quickly became a beloved member of the family.

Last week, I took Charlotte Ann to a specialist in Plano who offers laser treatments for dogs with cauliflower ears. Unfortunately, her ears have already calcified into bone, so the treatments won’t reverse the damage. But that’s okay—we’ll continue managing her ears with meds and ear flushes for the rest of her life. A small price to pay for such an amazing dog.

Charlotte Ann is calm, sweet, obedient, loving, attention-seeking, and—above all—fuss-free. And now, she’s officially home for good.

Please welcome Charlotte Ann to our rescue family!

She was a stray that we were able to pick up from a local shelter earlier this week. Our shelter friends tell us she has bad ears. In fact, her canals were swollen shut from infection.

She’s estimated to be about 5 years old. We’re told she’s friendly, but was nervous in the shelter ~ they were having to pick her up to go outside. They also mentioned she’s a bit “fluffy” and weighs 72.2 lbs.
