I always dreamed of having a big brother. I thought it would complete my life! Whenever I talked to my foster mom, I kept mentioning how much I wanted a big brother, and she would just smile and say, “Wait and see.”
Then one day, she said we were going for a ride. I was excited and curious, and when we arrived, I met the nicest family. They were wonderful, but I couldn’t help but notice they didn’t have a big brother. I really liked them, and my foster mom seemed to feel the same.
Suddenly, she told me they had a BIG surprise for me. When I walked through the door, there he was—my big brother! Everything feels perfect now.
Early this morning, I embarked on a new journey with rescue. While everyone else was still dreaming, I was eagerly waiting for the rescue wagon to come around the corner.
You see, I’ve been very sick. I was diagnosed with pyometra, a severe and potentially fatal condition that affects female dogs if not treated urgently.
You might see the worry and exhaustion in my eyes. I had nearly lost hope. But then, I heard the comforting words, “Rescue is on the way. Hang on,” and a glimmer of hope sparked within me.
When the rescue wagon arrived and I was gently lifted in, I felt a wave of relief wash over me as I heard, “You need help right now.”
Once we got to the vet clinic, a kind soul carried me like a baby, and with a tender kiss on my head, she told me I was beautiful and that she was glad I made it. She assured me I would be cared for before anyone else. Can you imagine that? A stranger telling me I was beautiful and making sure I was the priority for surgery.
I’m just 18 months old, and I’m now in good hands, ready for the treatment I need. I promise to keep you updated on my progress. Thank you for your support and for giving me a chance at a healthier future.
8/22/24 Update: I’ve had a bit of a rough patch lately—last week, I was really sick and needed urgent surgery for pyometra. Thankfully, I’m on the mend now and recovering quickly.
I’m currently in a loving foster home with lots of furry brothers and sisters who have been very welcoming. While I was initially a bit scared about everything, I’m starting to enjoy all the hugs and attention I’m receiving.
My foster mom says it will take a little while for me to fully recover, and I need to have some sutures removed, so for now, I’m relaxing and enjoying the cool air conditioning.
I’m looking forward to my follow-up visit with the vet in about a week and then, hopefully, finding my next family soon!
