Homer Charles, AKA Henry, was anxious to head to Waco and have a seat at Magnolia Table to join his bulldog sister Harper.
Henry has a new Dad, Logan, and a new Mom, Noelle. Henry had already met them on Sunday, and he knew this was the family for him. Henry made a trip to Bright Star on Thursday to tell the ladies good-bye and to tell Dr. Larsen “Look at me now!” Henry loved his new thicker, fuller look and was confident that if he ever took a fall he would have enough padding to not hurt himself. Dr. Larsen commented that he sure looked “thick!” There were a lot of hugs and have a great life Henry as he walked out the door!
Henry was one of the best fosters after he found his spot at the house. Henry took a bit to make himself at home, paced a lot at first, and then realized this place is a cool place and there was no reason to be afraid. Once he realized that every day was a great day in the life of Homer Charles Henry.
Have a fabulous life Henry with a great family that will love you forever!
10/10 23 Update: Please welcome Homer Charles back to our rescue family!
Homer Charles thinks he can be the next super model. And he’s probably right! He’s got the good looks, he’s charming and he’s the perfect size.
Previously adopted in March 2023, Homer Charles came back to rescue because there was a family member he didn’t like. Homer Charles doesn’t know all the details, but his adoptive family was super upset and they decided he needed to come back.
Homer Charles is going to visit with Dr. Larsen this week and he will tell her all about his troubles. But Homer Charles wants everyone to know he’s a good boy who made a bad choice of not liking a family member, and he’s sorry for that.
After a long time of waiting for my family to find me, I gave up hope. I sat in “Lost and Found” watching so many other dogs go home. I thought I belonged to someone.
People would stop and talk to me. They said they were sure someone was coming. It was hard looking out my window, just waiting and watching.
Finally, the wait was over and I got to leave. And I left with nothing. It was a sad feeling.
Starting over at 2 years old is hard, but I have to believe better days are ahead for me. My new friend who gave me a ride told me I looked like a Homer. I think I do too. Homer is a great name and I like it. I also love to sit for treats and shake your hand.
I am going to see Dr. Larsen this week and I know she is going to love me when I sit in her lap. She’ll probably tell me I need to gain some weight.
We have discovered that Homer tested positive for heartworms and will need treatment.
2/10/23 Update: Day #1 in our home and Homer is a talker. He definitely likes to tell you he wants attention. And I don’t blame him… He’s a hunk!
Homer is heartworm positive and is currently in treatment. Pretty soon though, he will be looking for his family.
While he settles into our home, we will share more about him, but this is what I know so far:
*He likes food…a lot!
*He doesn’t respond to commands and isn’t fully potty trained yet, but he’s pretty smart so that should change quickly.
*He did well with our dogs, but ticked off the cat in 1 minute (he was trying to sniff him too enthusiastically).
*He can entertain himself nicely in a cage if he has a bed or blanket.
2/21/23 Update: Homer Charles is a foodie. He loves his food! He says he will wait, right here, and monitor the cooking. Of course, he will also keep the kitchen floor clean for us, if needed… a win–win situation!
3/3/23 Update: While Homer Charles looks like a model (he’s gorgeous), he has some quirks.
If you like a small hunk of love with a big personality, he’s your bulldog. J He’s truly a great dog.
3/10/23 Update: Homer Charles wants to know what he has to do to get some kisses around here!
