Jasmine Laine

Jasmine Laine

Sunday morning started like any other in my foster home…breakfast, scratches, lounging. Then the doorbell rang.

A super nice couple came to visit. They showed up with all kinds of stuff. They had toys and even a harness and leash.

I thought, “What the heck are you doing with those? Do you have another dog out there?”

Nope, they were here for ME!

I hear that I’m going to a place called a beach. I’m not sure what that is yet, but they said I’m going to wear a bikini when I go! From puppy mill mama to beach babe!

I, of course, followed them right out to the car and jumped in.

Foster Dad seemed a little sad that I left without looking back, but it’s just because he prepared me so well for my new life.

Yesterday, I didn’t know what the heck was going on, but by nighttime, I ended up at a new house. I was able to walk around in the backyard on the grass for as long as I wanted.

Then I got a bath. I wasn’t at all sure that was a good idea, but I got through it and I am feeling much better now.

I met a couple of new Bulldogs and they were very welcoming. They seem to know that we’ve all been in similar situations.

I am learning the rules of the house and enjoying all of this incredible freedom. My foster mom tells me that I am beautiful and have the softest fur. The best part about my new house is that all of the people like to give me scratches! Can you imagine that? Well, I’m just gonna soak it all in.

I don’t really remember what I was called before. Or if I even had a name. But you can call me Jasmine Laine.

5/5/22 Update:  Happy humidity, Bulldog lovers! Whew, it’s getting’ a little steamy out there! I’ve been in my foster home for a little over a week. This house stuff is all new to me and my reaction to almost everything is, “What is that?!?!”

Toys? I am slowing learning to play with a few toys. There’s another dog here who I love, but she keeps trying to get me to play and I have no idea what she’s talking about. When I first got here, I was unsure of walking through doorways and navigating a step or 2. Now I am doing much better with all of those things. I’m also a bit of a scaredy-cat. If it makes a loud noise, is big, or comes at me too fast, I’m gonna get the heck out of there! I’m even afraid of Frosty Paws. Foster mom calls me a silly girl. I love to play outside and be with people and dogs. When I am tired, my favorite place is my kennel.

I hear that I am going to visit Dr. Larsen next week to get a check up and possibly put an end to my baby-making days. Then, watch out, Bulldog lovers, this beautiful lady will be ready to find her furever home!

5/18/22 Update:  Good morning! I am back in my foster home after Dr. Larsen made sure there would be no more babies for me. I am learning how to live in a house and not just a crate all the time. I love all people and am gentle with the little ones. I especially like the one who share a cold drink on a hot day. I am also a fan of cleaning baby toes! Really any toes, but the adults don’t seem to appreciate my helpfulnesses as much. I like to hang out with other dogs, but not really a fan of bossy girls. I am super smart and have learned that when I want to go inside I just open the door!  I would love to find a home of my own!

6/3/22 Update:  Now that my baby-making days are over, I am learning what it’s like to be a house dog. I must say, I could get used to this life!

Some of the things that are new to me are: treats, toys, couches, roaming free in a backyard, going on walks, snuggling and watching TV and these things called “commands.” I am slowly learning that all of this new stuff can be fun! My favorites are roaming free, snuggling and treats.

I have been a chewer all of my life. Previously, the only thing I had to chew on was my metal crate, as evidenced by my ground-down teeth. Doc Larsen took care of a couple of bad ones and says I can learn to chew on toys now.

Foster Mom says I need to learn to play with other dogs. It’s not that I don’t like other dogs. I’m just not sure what to do with them.

My new friend, Monica, likes to give me a good face washing. Sometimes, I return the favor.

I’m looking for a furever home where I can continue to learn how to be a house dog and get lots of lovin’!

6/9/22 Update:  Holy cow…. It was my lucky day! Foster Mom came home and said she had a surprise for me. It was a big box filled with treats and toys. She was particularly excited about a cup with Bulldogs on it. I’ll let her have that for her coffee while I go explore all the goodies! So far my favorites are the blueberry treats and snorting pigs.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Terry and Michelle!

6/13/22 Update:  There is nothing like watching two former mill mamas relax and learn how to be dogs.

Foster girls Jasmine Laine and Monica Mary Ann have gone from politely ignoring each other, to arguing, to one street fight, to learning how to play together and enjoying each other’s company.

I put a blanket in my office for them to hang out on while I’m working. Here is a glimpse of Thursday morning‘s WWE event.

You will see Monica “The Bowling Ball” Mary Ann’s signature move of going low and under to get the legs. Then you have Jasmine “The Crusher” Laine with the back up and cover you move. This works well until Monica goes for the teats! Whoa there, girlie! You might get fined for that move.

The afternoon is all about rest and recovery for the next match.

6/21/22 Update:  I’ve been laying around my foster home being lazy. After all, it’s stinkin’ hot outside!

Yesterday, there was a project going on and I was super curious about it. There were new noises and smells. Monica Mary Ann just rolled over and played dead, but I was a good helper! Foster Mom kept telling me to give them some space so I wouldn’t get hurt and then she’d give me a treat. I could get used to projects like this!

If there is someone out there looking for a good project supervisor, I just might be the Bulldog for you. Turn in your application and hopefully we can be a match.

7/1/22 Update:  After a little disagreement over who’s the queen of the house, I found myself with a sore paw.

Not to worry though, I’m super tough and Foster Mom said she’ll make sure it gets better quickly. She said I get donuts and spa treatments!

Well, that’s what I heard her say. As it turns out, it’s a donut around my neck and water sprayed on my paw. What the heck, Foster Mom?

Oh well. I’ll just pace around and whine until you take this silly thing off… and then I’ll use it for a pillow!
