Judi Jubilee

Judi Jubilee

Judi Jubilee (aka JJ) knew today was going to be special the moment she woke up. After a luxurious bath, she was all set and ready to hop into the car, tippy-toeing with excitement.

Today was adoption day, and I told her that she was finally going to her next home—with the wonderful family she met just last week!

JJ will be welcomed by her giant new brother, Diesel, and three sweet girls who will dote on her. It’s her turn to live her happily ever after. Congratulations to sweet JJ, James, and Alex!

It truly took a village to help JJ get to where she is today. A heartfelt thank you to our community for all the generous donations of supplies, and to the veterinarians who provided excellent care for JJ (and her puppies).

We’re overjoyed that JJ’s special day has finally arrived, and she’s now ready to be the happy, healthy puppy she was always meant to be!

Bulldog family my name is Judi Jubilee and I have  joined rescue. And it was a great day for me.

I was picked up by a local shelter and I sat waiting for my stray hold to come and go. I was super excited when no one came looking for me. As you can see from my eyes, I can barely see, and my skin is a hot mess.  When I went for my spa day my new friend wondered if I had ever had a bath. It was foreign to me—soap and water felt so strange. I bucked and jumped and was not sure what was going on. All I knew is she wore a mask because she said I did not smell like a rose. A couple years of funk was washed away this morning.

I want to say that I am 2 years old or younger. I appear to have had puppies before. When my fur is better I will be a beautiful lady. I weighted myself also and I weigh 32 pounds. Shoot I am purse size, and I would love to be carried around in a purse.

I practiced walking on a leash this morning. I walked, I crawled and then I rolled down the sidewalk. I am a bulldog babe in training. I am sweet as can be, just a little scared!

Update:  We quickly learned Judi Jubilee was not our average pick-up. An ultrasound confirmed she’s expecting a litter of puppies.

Tomorrow, her dedicated foster mom will take her in for an X-ray to estimate the number of puppies on the way.

Now, let us say this…. and PLEASE read: We kindly ask that you don’t inquire about adopting one of the puppies. We will NOT respond to anyone asking about a puppy. Please don’t ask. Please just keep the momma in your prayers. Right now, our entire focus is on Judi Jubilee’s well-being and that of her unborn pups.

Caring for a pregnant Bulldog requires round-the-clock attention, and the challenges are significant, especially given the unknown history surrounding Judi Jubilee and the mystery sire.

Plus, having a litter of Bulldog puppies is NOT easy, and nothing is guaranteed. Bulldog litters can be particularly demanding, with a higher mortality rate compared to other breeds. The process is mentally, emotionally and physically taxing for everyone involved.

But we will fight for Judi Jubilee as best we can. She and her babies deserve to live.

We will keep you updated as we learn more, but for now, we deeply appreciate your thoughts and prayers for Judi and our devoted volunteers. We need all the positive energy we can get during this critical time.

8/22/24 Update:  Please welcome Judi Jubilee’s eight- pack…. five girls and three boys. This brave little momma was carrying nine, but sadly, the first pup had too much fluid and didn’t make it. The c-section went well and everyone is hanging in there.

We still need all your positive vibes during this delicate time. The foster family will be managing feedings every two hours and keeping a close watch to ensure no one takes a turn. It’s a 24/7 job that’s both stressful and emotional. Let’s shower Naomi and her family with support and encouragement—they could use all the love and probably a lot of coffee, too.

Welcome to the world, little ones. We’re thrilled you’re here!

8/25/24 Update:  Some sad news this morning: we’ve lost two of Judi Jubilee’s puppies. They seemed perfectly fine at the last feeding, but by the next, they were gone. One was the cleft palate girl, and the other was a chocolate boy who had shown no issues and was nursing well.

.Last night, the smallest puppy seemed a bit sluggish, but after a bit of Karo syrup on her gums, she perked up and started nursing again. This morning, she has a full belly and seems to be improving.

Losing puppies is always tough, but unfortunately, it is not uncommon. Sometimes, despite appearing healthy, there can be underlying issues we can’t see. We also lack information about Judi Jubilee’s prenatal care—whether she received proper nutrition or had to fend for herself. Judi is estimated to be around 9 months old, and her body may not have been fully prepared for motherhood. All these factors contribute to the challenges we face, despite our best efforts.

We continue to need all the good vibes, thoughts, prayers, and support we can get. The foster family is working tirelessly around the clock to help Judi and her surviving puppies.

8/29/24 Update from Naomi, the foster mom: Judi Jubilee and the pups are doing well. We’ve seen some positive progress, and one of the pups, “JJ Junior,” is maintaining her weight. She nurses for about 5 minutes before stopping, while the others continue to feed. To support her growth, we’ll be increasing the tube feedings and enhancing Judi’s diet to help boost her milk production.

Note: We’re continuing to take things day by day with the little ones, concentrating on their immediate well-being and survival. While discussing their adoptions is premature at this stage, we want to reassure you that we have already approved families for them, should we reach that point.

9/31/24 Update:  Happy weekend from the pup parade~ Good news from foster momma Naomi: they all gained weight! We still have one under 10 ounces and the largest is at 14.2 ounces (still lighter than a can o’ beans).

NOTE: We’re continuing to focus on these babies daily care and immediate needs. We need them to survive and thrive. While it’s too early to discuss adoption, rest assured that we have pre-approved families ready and waiting, should the time come.

Many thanks to our friends Lisa, Darcy and Janet for sending the foster family Instacart gift cards! These pups are a 24/7 job, so your gifts will allow the family to have groceries and prepared food delivered (the humans need nutrients too!). We’re so grateful for their generosity.

9/3/24 Update:  Good morning Judi Jubilee and the pup crew! Foster momma Naomi reports that everyone is doing well today. Three babies are finally over the 1 pound mark, and the girls are doing their best. The smallest one, JJ’s mini-me, is 11.2 ounces. Naomi gave her some fresh frozen plasma last night to hopefully give her a boost.

9/6/24 Update:  Foster momma Naomi reports that everyone is doing well this morning, and they all made good weight gains yesterday.

The little gray girl had a bit of a rough patch yesterday with a sour stomach and a loss of appetite, but she’s nursing well this morning under Naomi’s attentive care. JJ has been a stellar momma, providing excellent cleaning and constant supervision.

9/12/24 Update: Foster momma Naomi reports that the family is doing great—everyone is gaining weight and the little ones are now happily accepting bottles, which is a fantastic milestone! The pups are also showing progress with trying to get up on their feet and actually finding their way to the potty pad to do their business.

9/14/24 Update:  We’ve got a delightful update from Judi Jubilee and the adorable pup crew. Yesterday, these little furballs turned 3 weeks old, and foster momma Naomi reports they’re thriving and putting on weight. Four of the squishy nuggets are already over 2 pounds! They’re starting to explore their world, getting up on their feet, and showing interest in toys, though they still spend most of their time sleeping and eating.

9/20/24 Update:  Foster mom Naomi reports that the little nuggets are thriving—gaining weight, playing, eating, pooping, and sleeping well. They’re becoming more stable on their feet every day.

JJ is starting to wean them off nursing (those teeth are sharp!), but she still loves cleaning and playing with them. They’ve been enjoying two meals of mousse daily, though the little girls are still figuring it out. Naomi is considering starting them on a cereal bottle to help fill their bellies.

Last night, the puppies surprised everyone by sleeping for six hours straight! When Naomi went in this morning to feed them, they were still snoozing. Progress is being made, and that extra sleep is a blessing for the foster family, especially compared to the previous schedule of feeding every two hours.

Also, a quick shoutout: Naomi celebrated a birthday this week, and we missed the chance to honor her. Let’s shower her with some birthday love!

Just a reminder: while adoption discussions are still a bit away, we have pre-approved families eagerly waiting to welcome these pups into loving homes when the time is right.

9/27/24 Update:  Foster momma Naomi shares the wiggly potatoes just celebrated their 5-week birthday! The sweet monsters are eating four times a day and will get cranky when a meal runs “late.” Everyone is g-r-o-w-i-n-g ~ three are in the 3-pound range, while the other three are over 4 pounds. JJ isn’t allowing any of them to nurse, but she enjoys cleaning and playing with them.

Judi Jubilee is as sweet as they come! She has taken her mama job very seriously, but will need a soft place to land for her forever days when the time comes.

JJ is great with other dogs, and likes to play. She would love to be your constant shadow.

We’re currently working on her skin issues. Plus, she still needs to be spayed and have her cherry eyes repaired before going to her forever home, but her time is coming soon. You won’t want to miss out on this sweet girl.

10/4/24 Update:  Foster momma Naomi reports that the crew received their first vaccinations yesterday! The puppy pen is buzzing with excitement, filled with growls, barks, and plenty of wrestling matches (which leads to a few screams too).

Judi Jubilee has seamlessly integrated into the routine with the resident dogs and is curious about the puppies. However, Naomi thinks the pen might be a bit too chaotic and cramped for her at the moment. Once the pups get the chance to play outside, Judi might be ready to spend more time with them.

We have approved families eagerly awaiting these adorable pups, but let’s not forget our wonderful adult dogs—like Judi—who are also in search of loving homes. They deserve their own “happily ever afters” too!

10/11/24 Update:  JJ has settled in wonderfully after weaning her puppies and is now enjoying quality time with her foster siblings.

She’s an affectionate girl, great with other dogs, and loves everyone she meets. Her potty training is going exceptionally well!

JJ would thrive in a home without cats, as she has a tendency to chase them.

Yesterday, she basked in the sun for the first time and loved every moment!

She still needs to be spayed and have her eyes addressed, but she’s now on the search for a family who will allow her to embrace her own puppyhood.

10/25/24 Update:   JJ is doing great in her foster home! She graduated from a puppy pad in her crate to a crate pad with no accidents. She loves to play with all her foster siblings and is very eager to please. She is my constant shadow (when she isn’t playing!). Yesterday, she spent the day supervising the puppy bags and meeting new friends. She is a gem! She’s scheduled to be spayed and have her eyes fixed next week.

11/1/24 Update:   JJ is enjoying her best life in the country. She plays non-stop with her foster siblings and has been doing great on potty training. She is crate trained and leash broken and her skin is looking great! She is also very easy to correct and loves to be your shadow.

She’s looking and feeling great, following her spay and eye surgeries this week. She’s ready to find a family to call her own ~ and we all now this sweet momma is well-deserving of that!
