Justice

Justice

6/16/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster and forever momma, Crossland: Justice sensed something was brewing. Since the loss of her second eye and being rendered blind, the rest of her senses are on point!

She smelled good food cooking, she heard the doorbell ringing with packages and then people. Oh, the people! So many people came to her adoption party! She couldn’t believe it…. a party just for her! All this fuss just FOR HER!

And Justice, even though blind, took all those people picking her up and petting her in stride.

Gone was the shivering, skinny girl of days past. Today was a new day. A family of her own. A family that is well entrenched in the rescue organization.

That’s right, Justice will forever be “in the family,” surrounded by all the people who fought for her health and happiness.

And this organization is a family. They took in that scared, abused girl and made her strong and healthy. She finally had people that believed in her and knew her worth. She has a whole village of people in her corner now.

Welcome home, Justice. You may have lost your eyesight, but you’ve gained confidence, weight, a whole pack that will lead you around and more love than you could ever imagine.

While we celebrate this amazing milestone for Justice, we still urge you to keep sharing the original post from the DeSoto Police Department. facebook.com/share/p/1Kie1JRn5q/

Justice’s case is a reminder that we must speak up for the voiceless and hold those who harm animals accountable.

Justice was left in the dark—but she’s walking into the light now. 💛 Let’s make sure no animal is ever left behind again.

INTRODUCTION: Yesterday, you likely saw the post from the DeSoto Police Department that broke our hearts. Surveillance footage revealed the gut-wrenching moments when a poor, injured Bulldog was callously abandoned in a dark, narrow alley—left to suffer alone. Thankfully, animal control officers stepped in just in time, bringing this sweet soul to a local shelter to ensure she was safe from further harm.

Today, we are filled with hope as we introduce you to Justice. This brave girl will receive all the care, compassion, and love she’s been so desperately denied. She is now a part of our rescue family, and we will make sure she knows nothing but kindness from here on out.

Please continue to share the DeSoto Police Department’s post. We owe it to Justice—and to all animals—to ensure the person responsible for this cruelty is held accountable. No dog should ever endure such neglect. Justice deserves nothing less.

2/13/25 update:  Justice was able to leave the vet clinic yesterday and is working on getting settled in her foster home.  She is such a sweet gal.

2/20/25 update:  Justice is doing wonderful in her foster home! She is so incredibly sweet and gets along beautifully with all other dogs in the house (six females, big and small). She hasn’t had a “disagreement” with any of them, and is easily part of the pack. Justice doesn’t have a mean bone in her body.

Her right eye was removed and she is recovering well. Her sutures will be removed on Tuesday this week. Her left eye has ulcers that are improving each day.

Justice went on a little road trip to East Texas with her foster family, and even made a stop in Paris along the way. She really enjoyed the one-on-one time during the trip while her foster fur-sisters were at “camp.”

Bottom line, Justice is what we like to refer to as “a happy dog.”  She is looking forward to having a family of her very own soon.

2/26/25 update:  Foster girl Justice received the sweetest present this week from our friends with Fur Angel Blessing Blanketeers! She’s very grateful for the special love.

3/7/25 update: Justice had a great time last weekend celebrating volunteer Sonia’s birthday. She was so loved that her feet never touched the floor!

4/2/25 update:  Justice had a great time at the Pizza Paw-ty at Campisi’s in Rockwall today! She loved meeting new friends. Now, she is all tuckered out and more than ready for her PJs and snuggles.
