5/27/25 ~ AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster pops: After several wonderful weeks with his foster family — during which he couldn’t have been any sweeter — Magic Mike wrapped up his rescue journey with a bang! He enjoyed a fun-filled Memorial Day weekend at the lake, helped his foster mom tackle some closet cleaning, and even had one final showdown with the wild and wacky Extra-Terrestrial
Now, Magic Mike (proudly renamed Boomer) has officially landed with his new family, where he’s already being spoiled with love, hugs, affection — and of course, an impressive collection of toys!
While we’ll miss that giant, adorable noggin and his chill, constantly entertaining personality, we know he’s exactly where he belongs — with Michael, Julie, and their amazing kids. Watching them find each other has been pure joy.
Congratulations to Magic Mike — now Boomer — and his new family. Here’s to a lifetime of love, laughter and Boomer Sooner vibes!

INTRODUCTION: Three years old. Eighty pounds of slow-blinking swagger and a head so big, when he turned it, the scale went down ten pounds.
And they wonder why he’s called Magic Mike.
Magic Mike was found living under an overpass near a busy highway—but let’s be clear, he was never homeless, just between stages.
From the moment he landed at the shelter, he had a fan club. When he showed up at the vet clinic, even a few grandmas came out front just to catch a glimpse of him shaking his stuff.
This boy brings all the girls to the yard—and he doesn’t even break a sweat. No pole required. Just vibes, jowls, and a tongue that won’t quit.
Magic Mike is scheduled to lose a little bit of his mojo soon. That’s right—neuter day is coming. His days of making it rain dollar bills are nearly behind him, but don’t worry—he’ll still be shaking it… just with a plush toy in his mouth instead of singles in his collar.
Don’t call it a retirement. Call it a rebrand.
Magic Mike: coming soon to a couch near you.
4/23/25 update: Foster boy Magic Mike has officially wrapped up his vetting—and, folks, he’s lost that lovin’ feeling… if you know what we mean.
Yesterday, he was a total gentleman! Mike walked right beside me on leash, never pulling or giving me a hard time. We haven’t tested him with other dogs yet—because if he were to react, I wouldn’t be able to hold him back! This boy is solid muscle at 90 pounds… and believe it or not, he actually needs to gain a few!
In some of the photos I snapped, you can still see his ribs. With the right care and nutrition, he’s going to fill out into a showstopper.
Magic Mike would thrive in a home with a strong, confident handler—ideally a man looking for a loyal best friend. While he’s been nothing but sweet to me, I do think he’ll need someone capable of managing his size and strength.
And about that moment when he saw the vinyl dog photos on the boarding wall? He licked the wall. Was it admiration? Curiosity? A snack-based fantasy? We may never know—but it’s clear he noticed.
Stay tuned as we continue to learn more about this handsome hunk of Bulldog!
5/8/25 update: We picked up Magic Mike on Thursday, and from the moment he walked through the door, he made himself right at home. He’s healthy, happy, incredibly chill, and the sweetest, most cuddly guy you could imagine!
Over the past three days, Amy, our two daughters, and I have showered him with love—and he’s absolutely soaking it up. Yesterday, he met our daughter’s Sheepadoodle, and the two of them had a blast playing together. Afterward, Magic Mike cozied up on the couch with us to “watch” the Kentucky Derby… but ended up napping for a solid three hours instead!
He’s fantastic—calm, easygoing, and completely unfazed by new surroundings. Honestly, if you didn’t know better, you’d think he’d been part of our family forever.
5/15/25 update: Hi everyone, it’s Magic Mike checking-in.
I continue to thrive in my foster home. I love to eat, love to play, love to nap and love to eat (oh, did I already mention that?). I have met a few other dogs and loved playing with them and I am good around people. I did meet a very young child the other day and was so curious and anxious to play, but think I need to be careful around small children because I’m not sure I understand my own strength and enthusiasm. I’m sure I will get better about this.
I like sleeping in my crate at night but am very excited when my fosters let me out in the morning, particularly so I can have breakfast, followed by a long morning nap! I love to cuddle and play with my toys, and my foster parents think I just must be pretending to be this chill and easy, but I promise this is me!
Apparently I am also just the best boy because I hear that all day! Anyway, just wanted to say hi to everyone and hope I find my forever home soon. I hopefully attached a couple of pictures below to my greeting.
