Through a special partnership with Adopt-A-Bull Underdogs, we’ve been able to get six of our long-term foster dogs moving and grooving north! The Montana-based rescue group agreed to help us place Charlie Bob, Coco Mellon, Jax Preston, Olivia Lynn, Greta Leigh and Lentil. We weren’t having much luck finding them suitable families because all of them needed homes without other dogs. Please send your love and gratitude to Adopt-A-Bull Underdogs. We’re so grateful that we could team up for this “Six Pack of Paws!”
It was super hot on the day I was walking down the highway. I was certainly thankful when a car pulled over and the driver asked if I wanted a ride.
My new friend told me she saw me earlier that day and was hoping I was on my way home. She was shocked when she saw me still walking when she was on her way home from town.
All I knew was that nothing looked familiar and I was glad to be in a car with air conditioning.
When I went to the vet’s office, the doc estimated me to be about 3 years old. The doc said it looked like I had recently had some babies. They felt like I had been dumped, which is quite possible.
My new mom loved me. After posting my photo all over town and social media, she told me I must be her new Bulldog and I had a home.
But someone should have told her Boxers that because they were not very nice to me. As a matter of fact, they didn’t want me in their home. They started a fight with me every time they saw me. All I knew how to do was just lay still because no one ever showed me how to fight back.
After awhile, my new mom told me she was so sorry, but she could not stand to see the other dogs pick on me. She had talked to the Boxer brothers, but they did not care. It was their home. Two were company and three was a crowd.
It was sad when the day came and rescue picked me up. We all cried. My new mom cried the hardest. She told me she loved me and would watch for me on social media. But the Boxer brothers told me they were happy I was going. Go figure. I know my new family is right around the corner.
10/31/23 Update: Olivia Lynn has been in our home for a little over a week. She eagerly awaits her November 3 freedom day so she no longer has to be on restriction from heartworm treatment.
Olivia is super sweet, gets along well with other dogs and cuddles our children like they’ve always been family.
Our dogs have quickly taught Olivia how to use the doggy door. She has only had one accident since her arrival, so I think it’s safe to say she’s potty trained.
Olivia loves to go on short walks and does well on the leash. She’s able to get up on the couch and the recliner with ease. Olivia isn’t picky about where she sleeps, as long as she can cuddle up next to you.
11/7/23 Update: Olivia Lynn is FREE from heartworms and is officially off of her required rest following her treatment! She is one of the sweetest Bulldogs I think I’ve ever met.
Olivia craves attention and will cuddle for hours if you let her. She prefers sleeping on our recliner, but she makes the couch work from time to time.
Olivia also craves food and treats all day, every day. She eats out of a slow feeder bowl because she tries to inhale her food. Olivia is an overzealous treat eater and has the tendency to get your fingers when she’s taking a treat, so we are working on taking treats without taking off fingers.
Olivia’s forever home wish list includes a home with a warm bed, lots of treats, and someone who will spoil her.
11/13/23 Update: Olivia Lynn continues to do well in her foster home. She loves to snuggle up, especially if there’s a blanket available.
Olivia has started to play with stuffed toys, is scared to death of the broom, and thinks she can eat faster if she dumps her food bowl over.
Olivia is crate trained, potty trained and listens well. She will bark at strange noises, but overall, I wouldn’t consider her a barker.
11/30/23 Update: Olivia is a sweet girl who loves people and wants to sit beside you. She is ready to find her next family!
